It is only impressive to gym rats. Most educated people realize that being super strong is not important in living a successful and happy life.

Why do you even need to fight in the first place?

They like sucking your dick, even, more, when you have a fat wallet. Plus you can still have a nice attractive physique without doing strength training or even going to a gym.

Juicing is bad if you don't make money off your physique or athleticism. Getting fat in the name of strength is bad too. Getting strong as a lean natty is awesome.

What are your hobbies? I am curious about how an educated man such as yourself spends his free time.

Please dont talk about bodyweight exercises if you are completely clueless about them. Doing 1 arm chin ups, planche, levers and other advanced moves will give you a good physique and even better strength gains.

While thats impressive a heavy barbell row equals more resistance your ever going to get from a 1 arm chin up better strength gains from weights is logical. Why isn't the worlds strongest man competition dictated by bodyweight strength?

I mean it's all about perspective. Bodybuilding literally means exercising for the sole purpose of appearing aesthetically bigger, while strength training is all about resistances and building skeletal muscle. Doing either requires dedication and ultimately we all lift for our own self-satisfaction. I respect anyone that does either because in the end at least were getting off our asses and working in the gym.

Strongman competitions are based on absolute strength. Bodyweight exercise are more about relative strength and body control. You cant someone who does calisthenics to deadlift 1000lbs but you wouldnt expect Brian Shaw to do planche push ups. 2 different types of strength.
Also 1 arm chin up would equal to doing a weighted chin up with your entire bodyweight. You realize how much strength that requires? Most people can barely do 10 reps without weights let alone adding that much resistance.

Why does it have to be either/or one selection only?

You can focus on strength in your training (3 hrs/week) and still lead an extremely well-balanced life. You're foolish if you think otherwise.

Hell, I'd argue that it even has benefits to the other aspects of your life.

I'm not strong to impress anybody. I am strong because I love being strong and because I don't want to be feeble when I am old.

(Yes, I know I'm old already. I mean really old, like my parents' ages.)

Do you strengthen up your glutes so you can chit harder on the toilet and totally desecrate those porcelain walls?

I simply strength train because I enjoy it, but benefits outside of the gym that I have taken note of include:

- Improved confidence. After moving a load that formerly intimidated you, other tasks in life seem far less daunting.
- Access to paid labor. Manual labor blows, but when employers know you are big and strong, they are more likely to hire you.
- Respect from peers. Like it or not, humanity is a primitive species at heart. Bigger, stronger creatures are more likely to be capable of killing us, so we tend to avoid those animals' bad sides as a result of our survival instinct.
- Friends. This is an expansion of the last point, but the same intimidation that results from size and strength also causes admiration.
- Health. Part of lifting for health is strength training. Havier loads make bones more dense and improve muscular strength and balance, which is especially important for geriatrics. Women in particular, so your point is moot. There are virtually zero drawbacks to lifting for strength and power.
