Truth is that nothing is safe if she is hellbent and has a good lawyer that you more than likely will end up paying for too.
There is absolutely nothing positive about marriage for men unless you are religious. You truly are playing russian roulette with your life.
Cali has after 10 years she can get alimony till the day you die regardless of what she has done. In the military she can take half of your retirement regardless of what she has done. If you two have kids you can kiss the house, car and any property good bye.

Its not a good investment at all if you are worth anything and it boggles my mind how men jump into it without any knowledge of whats going on. Most women know the deal and men just follow them right into a trap with the "shes different" mentality. Guys that are posting in this thread dont even know some of this stuff.

There is a reason why depression and suicide is so high for men that have been married and gone through a nasty divorce but no one talks about it because its all about the trauma the women have been through. yes mad...

Depends on the state law. Here in TN it's a no fault state so yes whatever is accrued during the marriage is considered community property and is divided. If you came into the marriage with lots before I don't think that is considered community property and not split with the partner.

Some states may be different about adultery being grounds for something different. Maybe Utah

I'm a walking stereotype. We married young. Prenup won't help you, didn't even make one. All of our money goes into the same bank account. We know passwords for everything. We married when I didn't have a job and was poor.

Married a smart, college educated (STEM), family-oriented woman who isn't from the USA/westernized country. Married because of our faith. She makes more than I do. I was her first boyfriend/kiss. I can't imagine how I'd feel if she cheated on me. I hope we last. So far, we have, she cooks for me, and she's my best friend. We don't go out, and our idea of a wild night is a game of Left 4 Dead 2. We have no close friends.

This thread scares me. I hope we all make it brahs.

The only reason I would want to get married is for kids. Might have to look into Russian surrogates, they're probably cheaper (financially, mentally, and physically) than maintaining a marriage with a large chunk of today's social media/ narcissistic female population.

Don't get me wrong, there's still good people out there, but they're becoming rarer and rarer by the day.

If you don't have children, marriage is an idiotic choice. If she puts pressure on you for marriage (I've had women do this) and you explain your position in a logical fashion (I offered to even buy the ring and pay for the ceremony, just not the actual legal contract) and she still doesn't give a fuk and won't compromise then you know what you are dealing with. If she doesn't care about your LEGITIMATE concerns and believes her feelings are more important, even if you compromise on the ring and ceremony and hell even make a living will out to each other, if all of that ain't enough and she needs that actual contract with the State then fuk her srs.

I've seen it happen.

Wife cheats, gets full custody of the kids, the house, way more than 50% of all possessions AND the husband has to pay child support for both kids for the next decade+

Husband wasn't in to any drugs or abusive I might add.

I can't think of any logical reason to get married if you're a man. You're pretty much spreading your ass cheeks in prison and praying that nobody rapes you.
