It's funny once you realize that it is not your vanity that bothers them, OP, but their own.

After realizing this I went from mild irritation to pity.
The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

This is why I assume something is wrong with shredded people who are super social. The amount of *******ry you hear from DYEL "friends" is enough to become a sociopath. People who lift and are super social usually do it for the ego, nothing else.

I think it's pretty pathetic how most people cant even do a single pull-up, but if everyone lifted and stayed in shape there would be no competiton for banging hot sloots and there wouldn't be ant fat peole and fat People

Different strokes I guess. The difference is for (most of) us on here it's a passion, and for others it's a chore. We've read about the ins and outs of it, we know (mostly) what to do and what splits work for us, what to eat, and we see the results we want so we enjoy it. For others, mainly beginners or yo-yo'ers, they see it as something mind numbing that they need to do to lose a few lbs. People who train "properly" are probably in the minority, so not a lot of people can relate. They can't understand why we like it the way we do and they're not as educated about it as we are. Years ago before I was clued up on macros and nutrition, someone mentioned protein shakes and I remember thinking "but I don't want to get big?"... So yeah, it's probably a lot to do with a lack of understanding too

I couldn't give a flying fuk either way. I enjoy it so I'll continue, and come on here to talk about it with others who also enjoy it. Let people think what they want (if they even do think anything). There's worser things to be addicted to I guess

Those comments would make my day. Back when I was on a rigorous creatine supplementstion plan i blew up 20-30 pounds. That along with my height (6'6") made brahs make comments all the time. I think alot of them were insecure around me tbh... dat moonface of peace though

It can get annoying once in a while but can't say people are too terrible about it at work. They mainly don't give a fuk.

Going out here in LA is a different story. Most people at clubs and club-ish bars lift.

This comment always makes me cringe though:

Guy: "hey bro how much do you bench?"

Pissenin: "X lbs"

Guy: "oh heck yea dude that's awesome... I had a friend in college who used to bench X+45lbs for reps tho, isn't that something?"
