Before I would go, I'd study what companies did what, and different things on current events. All I'd have to do is remember the winners of the Kentucky derby for the first few years. Then what stocks hit it big. After getting rich, I would presue and smash Marilyn Monroe.

I don't think you would have to invent anything directly, just know who does what, and get behind it when it's just a start up.

Of course you would come in with your mind wired to 2016 and wouldn't know what to do with yourself. Stepping down would be hard. Back then, people enjoyed what they had. Mainly because before that, they had nothing. There is a flip side, the average person today has a much shorter attention span, and the average person today suffers from a level of anxiety and depressions that would be considered needing to be hospitalized back in the 1950's. We have a lot more now, and some things are better, but there are cons to it.

I'd be cold as fukk, north as fukk with no relatives or people who know me.

I'd probably search for the closest place to stay for a while and get some clothes, food and money by working for a while. Then I'd move to the capital, take a job there and start predicting the future. I'd try my best to get into the stock business and betting business. I'd write novels about predicting the future and start gathering a following. The biggest problem would be of course that my actions could possibly alter the future; for ex. if I mention the future presidents name when he is like 10 years old, and say that he's gonna die when he is 50, it might alter his path in life. The other problem is that my knowledge of the 50s is very limited, and it'd take like 20 years until my predictions would start to gather fruit.
