A little would do the trick.
Not too much.
You don't want the fukker picking fights and getting knocked out.

Oh if I have kids they're gonna be monsters.
Biggest concern would be them fighting with each other.

That's what happened to me for most of my elementary school days. I stood up for myself and it ended. Obviously you don't want kids to punch another kid just because they called him fat or stupid, but I also think that teachers become blind to the real extent of the bullying. As an elementary school teacher, this.
99% of the "bullying" parents complain about is kids being kids. Kids are mean, but they're kids. They're self centered and as they grow older they will mature and learn how to behave. If they don't then that will be dealt with at that point. Bullying in elementary is just "he did this, so i did it back!" and that occurs 19,000 times a day... at least in my second period.

Father forced me to take bjj at a young age even tho I didn't really want to.
Didn't regret it one bit when I grew up to be the little guy getting picked on in HS.
Besides, only two years of training will put a child leagues above 90% of his or her peers and do wonders for their confidence.

Everyone should learn how to throw a punch and only use in extreme situation.

I would only teach my children to throw a punch in extreme case if they were being followed or thrown up against wall and they have no other choice but to stand up.

Teach the kid basic self defence like throat, eyes, sack, etc. If that's not enough then teach them a lesson about the real world and press charges.
Assault and battery are civil wrongs as well as crimes under Australian law. Pupils above the age of 10 may face criminal proceedings in the Magistrates’ Court for assault. Upon conviction, the magistrate may direct that the perpetrator pay compensation to the victim or person aggrieved for injury or loss.
Charges can also be brought against the school for failing to provide a safe environment. There was a kid here awarded nearly half a million about 10 years ago.

It makes sense to teach your kids age appropriate self-defense techniques. When they are young, in my opinion, that should be focused on anti-kidnapping awareness and techniques to make it harder for another adult to pick them up and carry them away in a public place. When they get older then teach them a martial sport like wrestling, boxing, bjj, judo, and so on. That will give them the self-defense they need on any schoolyard and provide self-esteem and fitness benefits...as well as years of enjoyment.
