I'd do the same, if my parents weren't divorced and well... Instead I moved out early and spent a chit ton of money on it. Not really a hosting parties kind of person.

I personally don't spend much in cars or on a house. Just some on clothing and shoes (hnnng), and maybe a little too much on the whole gym, tan & "supps". But that's my thing, I don't drink or smoke, pretty much never eat out, since I'm "always" on diet or something. So I spend my money on chit that I like.

In my culture, men always live with their parents, after a certain turning point when your parents get old and need to be taken care of, the son always helps them out anyway that he can. Unlike some other ethnicities that just put them in a nursing home to rot. Family is really important and you should all have each others backs.

Stay at home for as long as you can. So long as you contribute, have a job, and are saving that money for positive/ lucrative moves forward, then you're fine. In my opinion, all that freedom, living on your own stuff is BS. Establish rules in your household and you'll be fine. It's a more stupid idea to spend 30-60% of your income on paying rent when you don't have to and already have a place to stay.

Nothing honorable with living on your own, and spending most of your income on housing just to be cool, or be able to bring a girl back to your place. Save your money. Plan some big steps in the next few years.

It's perfectly fine. For me, I want to move out once I'm done school and land a decent job. Living at home seriously effects my dating life. Way too uncomfortable bringing girls back home.

I want to be independent and if it doesn't work out moving back is always an option.
