The tapping they do does nothing for me though. Having them tap on a ****ing hair dryer for 5 minutes completely ruins it.

Repped. The original and the dude didn't even know he was doing ASMR. Love that guy and am not even going to add no homo. Only criticism I have is he'd stick too many big trees in right at the end and somewhat fukk up the painting, but not that much.

Went down the ASMR hole this week, slowly climbing back out. Here's my experience:

-Good vids that eliminate background noise (chair bumps, white noise hums) and use of noise canceling headphones are a plus.
-Personally found that tapping + scratching gives me tingles and deeply relaxes me. I'd compare it to backpacking and being in an environment where there's no city noise and the only sounds are the slow push of trees as wind approaches with random rain drops. (yes, I have a bit of cabin fever this winter which caused me to go down the ASMR route).
-Found that mouth noises and affirmations creep da fuk outta me.

Cringelist:
The amount of "cos play girls" and "makeup artists" that show up with chitty vids using their iphone mics getting 500k - 2.5 million views because they're s'cute/caked in makeup.
The amount of channels that produce role playing as ASMR
30 min+ vids of girls giving dead eyes looking off camera to a clock
Realizing some audio does nothing for me but watching the vid along (don't like a giant glowing screen at 3am) of a girl slowly running a fork over a mic will produce tingles. (this is whatalmostmade me climb out)
Finding a webcam sloot I've seen on pronherb getting split like a log with a following of weirdos on youtube asking her to make "ear chewing" noises to no end. (this was the moment it was time to see the sun again).

fuking this. i always skip to the next one. the blowing doesn't do anything for me either. i just like them talking.
