TIL lots of miscers also don't realize that a vehicle can be considered a weapon in the scope of the law.

Whatever the Asian dude did, it does not in any way justify a beating like the one the cop gave him, unless he had actually caused an accident. For that off-duty cop to go and find another on or off-duty cop just to go find this dude and beat him up (not sure, little confused on the details) says a lot about what kind of man he is. Not to mention he felt the need to get out of the cruise with the gun raised and screaming, while his partner get out with his hands at his side, calm and collected. That says even more about what kind of man he is. Certainly not one I would want policing my streets.

Irony is the off-duty cop who did this beating likely would have been able to get away with it with no one being any the wiser if he'd just followed the dude and pursued it on his own, without calling in a recording squad car.

Excessive use of force. All of that wasn't needed to effect an arrest. You also cant really see whats going on in the car. Maybe hes reaching for chit.

It also sounds like there was a brief vehicle pursuit before the Asian guy decided to stop (off the radio traffic). Who knows what he did before.

You cant let your emotions get the best of you if youre a cop.

Apparently he threatened to "get" cops. He should have come out instantly with his hands up, and obey. Then if he was mistreated roughly he'd have a nice lawsuit settlement on his hands. But he was too stupid.

I remember when I was fighting 2 cops & 1 tried to taze me. I spinned outta the way & he tazed his partner. I proceeded to beat the **** out of him. It was recorded on video but no charges for me because the cop couldn't testify due to brain damage.

A cop could sucker punch a 2 year old and then handcuff him and there would be at least 5 MISCers in here being like "Well we dont know the backstory" or "the kid was clearly resisting" "could have been reaching for his squirt gun" "Must have been doing something wrong and deserved it cause no way a cop could do that..."

Cops have too much power in this country. They were originally put in place to stop serious crime like murder and robbery. Now that most communities dont face this anymore, cops have started resorting to heckling the citizens, extorting them for significant $$$ for "driving violations" and routinely abuse their power when they feel fit. Im not a cop hater, but I do believe we have entered the beginnings of a police state and if we dont stop it its only gonna get worse...

Ask yourself this.. how many police departments have scaled back officers, funding, etc, regardless if crime has gone down? Few do. In fact, the more money and more wealthy an area it seems there are MORE cops, not less, despite less crime.

The police, like most government bureaucratic agencies, is getting too big.
