Been married for 4 years and there has never been a single moment I've ever questioned it. She's financially independent, works as an accountant for a non-profit making a little over 75k and I works as a web developer making around the same maybe a little less, closer to 70k. Between us, we live the lifestyle we want. We bought our first house, both drive the cars we want and we take trips often... we still go out to the bars/clubs to drink with our core group of friends...She's alright with me going out with the boys for a night out, nor do I mind her going out for a girls night. We have shared hobbies (soccer, gym, kickball) and separate hobbies. I honestly can think of very few things I dislike about me wife....

She dyed her hair recently... actually didn't like it. I told her but she likes it so I guess it's whatever lol... I grew out my beard and she thinks I look like I was recruited by the taliban or some shyt. But I like it and she's cool with it...

Married or not, she's the one i would choose. Life's too short to worry about whether or not it'll last... I'll be happy to share my life with her for as long as it lasts.

Honestly my marriage got better after having kids. It definitely brings you closer together when you start kicking ass at raising kids. Gives you and your wife a lot of opportunity to bond over teaching the kids new things, and watching them demonstrate skills or display traits that you know you've taught them. The pride you'll both take in molding your kids into respectful and intelligent humans is a real bonding experience.

That being said, the beginning will probably SUCK. When your kid is super young and you don't know what the fk you're doing yet as a parent, it kinda sucks. It's stressful. For the first few months all they do is cry, sleep, eat, and destroy diapers...mostly cry. You guys won't be sleeping much and your wife's hormones will be all messed up. There's nothing rewarding about it and you guys will probably argue more than usual. It's taxing on a marriage. It gets much better, just takes a little while.

My wife and I have a better sex life than we did before having kids. Only downside is that there are less opportunities to get it in because the kids are around, but we make it work just fine. She's an incredible mom and oddly enough, that type of sht is sexy to me now. I'm a great dad, and that's the type of thing that turns her on these days.

First years were exhausting, demanding and challenging to a relationship. So if you're not in it together and there's relationship problems a child isn't going to fix things.

Constantly being touched and physically needed by young children can make you stop considering yourself as a sexual being or a partner in a relationship. The level of need that babies and young kids have can be all consuming and it can be hard to fight against and yes it can affect you.

But find yourselves again and work on your relationship and it can exponentially improve things you become the heads of a family and your kids add to your joy. As does their growing independence.

To be fair we actually added a floor to our home that the kids aren't allowed up without express permission and that helped

Yes, have 2 kids. 13 and 9 now. Similar as Rabbit mentioned. The first one was a huge challenge. You don't know wtf you're doing or why you decided to bring a life into this world. Looking back, we're pretty sure my wife went through some post partum depression also. It was pretty tough going. Then, once we got comfortable, wham, she's pregnant with #2.
Now, however, we're stronger than ever. We make it a point to make "us" time without the kids around. We take a small yearly trip around our anniversary for 3-4 days without the kids also. They're now at the age that they actually want to go see the places we go to, so it's getting a little harder to leave them behind.

Together for 21, married for 15, have a 10 year old kid. hasn't been easy. hasn't been horrible. I'm still enjoying it. That being said my results aren't typical, at least with the women running around today.

You guys do what ya want to do as far as signing your life away. It took a six year test drive for me to be sure I was buying the right car and I bought new. Can't imagine some of yall trying to buy used. Find out what is under the hood. See how much money it takes for regular maintenance. Check for recalls and factory defects.

Some of these folks want to buy after a 10 minute test drive then complain about what they purchased.

My wife and I are pushing off children. My wife is 5 years younger than me so that helps. We both want a child but we have so many other things we want to do before we have something like that weighing us down. She is also moving up the ladder in her career quickly like she recently became the head of her department at like 24. The youngest there was before was around 35. We don't want to stop the momentum at this point.

Our parents want us to have a child BADLY though!

Don't make life changing decisions for other people. I'd say that's too young for children particularly when career is going well. You've got a good few years yet. I'd been Board level for 3 years when we had our first

The key to know if you are happy or not is what would you do if you won the lottery.

Would you get rid of her for a new younger version? You could basically have any woman you want.

So if you answer yes then you are just basically stuck in your current marriage because of money issues. If money was not a concern, most marriages would be over with long before they actually are.

"Statistics show that in the U.S., 50% percent of first marriages, 67% of second, and 74% of third marriages end in divorce."

You don't have to be a bad statistic though. Lots of people get married for garbage reasons.

men are probably bad to but no one except the gays have to deal with dating dudes so that really doesn't matter.

go to an all female board and I bet it'll be the exact opposite. "Men are terrible.", "My bf cheated but I'm going to give him another chance.", or "this new guy is 5'8", hilarious and doesn't make a lot. but he's got a great personality and treats me great. I think we're going to make it".

These threads always crack me up because the happily married miscers still haven't figured out the obvious fact that they could do all the same chit they're currently doing without hosting an expensive party to inform the state in which they reside of their relationship status.
