Playing video games 10 hours a day in your teenage prime is definitely not the most optimal use of your time. Pro gamers are a VERY small %, and even smaller the ones who make enough for a healthy living. It's not a valid justification for people who are just going to bed@ 4am, sleeping until 2pm, jack off, playing DOTA2 for 12 hours then sleep again. "But you can make heaps of money gaming" "Yeah, but you don't, try again".

I love games myself, but in moderation. If I have any convenient or outside options then I will take it. I am very good at some games, but I would never even dream of using that as a bragging point, or specially bringing it up in real conversations. Social awkwardness and lack of many personal development skills is increasing, we need people to interact more outside of games, social media, computers as a whole. That's why we're breeding more and more passive, awkward humans who can't function properly at all outside of their tablet/screen/phone.
