That was the hardest part to watch, and I know they couldn't really help the dude, but as others pointed out, seeing them laugh about it. I couldn't even give a mad response it was just that shocking.

Absolutely shocking replies in this thread. No one is saying these teens should have saved him. They're saying in the man's last moments, to disrespect and laugh at someone struggling for their life is totally disgusting. Their complete lack of empathy and mocking of the man is not a normal reaction most people would have.

I wouldn't have tried playing hero either by jumping in
it's good that they aren't being charged with anything- you aren't morally obligated to help someone drowning. They should be exiled via social ostracization the rest of their lives though, good luck finding a job or doing anything worthwhile when you have this sh*t tagging along with you (won't happen since identities weren't disclosed, shame)

Damn. I was reading about this and apparently he had a fight with his fiance and his mom immediately before, probably wanted to kill himself (and regret it half way through, this is not uncommon). The kids are not obligated to help, nor can they really help him themselves. But to stand there, laughing and taunting this man is disturbing. I have trouble watching the video, it's baffling how they can actually see this irl and not call for help.

To the people who said he would be dead by the time help gets there, not necessarily, it took 10 minutes for the guy to go down completely, and even then, it's a few more minutes of no oxygen for the brain to experience irreversible damage. If they called immediately, there is probably a good chance he would live albeit possibly having some deficits.
