Took a while for me to get over it in public workplace, but seeing that other people don't care helped me to stop caring.
Try to be respectful at people's homes though. Go before or hold it so I'm not the guy that blows it up and makes it miserable for everyone. Not a shy thing, respect thing.

My biggest thing is having to poop on a 9 hour plane ride. It's pure torture, cause I really have to poop, but I can't destroy that toilet with 4 people in line. I'm dreading my flight to Switzerland for that reason only srs

I had that fear when I flew from Houston to Shanghai a few years ago but surprisingly, plane restrooms are very well ventilated. (at least United Airlines was)

Combination of a strong fan and a small space and it's like fresh air is circulated every 15 seconds or so. Zero smell.

I used to absolutely refuse to poop in public rest rooms. It actually disgusted me. Until I started lifting and eating more so sometimes I had no choice. Now an afternoon poop after work in the gym rest room with my smartphone in my hand before lifting is one of the finer pleasures of life
