If you spend most of your time playing video games then that probably means you don't have much of a life. Not by judgmental standards, but by realistic standards.

When I had a job and an active social life, I couldn't play video games much at all. A lot has changed since then, but real world responsibilities prevent the LDAR lifestyle. Only exception is if you're making money gaming, which most people don't.

He's right if life basics are not covered by your age.

However, if you have good job, making money, social activities and other necessary stuff and
find time to play video games, then it is awesome and one should ignore uncles.

No there's definitely room for that too I just kind of ultimately view play somewhat as work too.

I'm not anywhere near where I want to be in life so I don't feel I have too much time for unadulterated fun either.

Yes, I would love to play video games and watch movies all day long but I trained myself to embrace work in music, which is kind of fun as well.

I used to play video games Madden mainly, watched a lot of TV, nothing is as fulfilling as having hands on control in creating something.

Video games are fun, I'm just saying try other stuff out too, IRL, that stuff might also be fun, maybe even more fun than video games.

Nothing wrong with playing in moderation as long as you're supporting yourself and being a productive member of society

But since you're 29 and still living with your parents I'm gonna side with your uncle on this one

I that cast you have to consider his perspective. On the other hand, he may have a point if you don't take care of business first. Otherwise, you can do anything you want in your free time and what he says should matter. As long as you "take care of business" first.

I can imagine what your uncle would think of me
I would hope that at this point you can handle it and wouldn't need his validation. Even if he is older.

lollin hard at uncle and miscers trying to sound super mature for not playing videogames. Oh yeah, I used to play video games... now I'm just too busy being, you may have heard of it, an adult? ever heard of being a grown man? I do things, like build shelfs, and I ride my motorcycle. I ride my hog with the boys, we all have hogs and we ride them normal style, not gay. I have several hammers, several different types for different purposes, several back ups of the same hammer. I'm NOT fukken gay or a kid, I DON'T play games. I watch sports and shower with my friends after watching the sports... Normal Style.

I'll play video games until I die and I'll be starting lan parties in my retirement home.

I've been criticized my entire life for playing video games, by people less successful than me, by people who sit on social media or tv for 2x the time I spend on video games, by people who have absolutely no hobbies or interests. All of them hypocrites. I used to care but now that I'm older I don't give a single fuk about their opinion on what I enjoy doing in my free time.

Unfortunately, it's a thing for baby boomers and the older generations. I'm sure the generation before that used to call them the same thing about chess, backgammon, card, pokers and etc. I just hope they shut the fuk up and not meddle on other people's hobby.

I lost count on how many times I've been called "oh look at you, you got no life", "games are for babies, turn that chit off" and all sorts of nasty terms, and this is all coming from my family members (dad, mum, aunts, grandpas, uncle etc). Meanwhile, I remember my dad used to play classic consoles and how he used to beat me all the time in NES when I was a child. Hypocrisy at its finest.

I tried to explain to them very clearly that it's normal for adults to play games and the vast majority of the gamers are 30+ years old. Most Steam members are 35 years old so imagine the PSN and Xbox? But still don't get it.

You're supposed to work hard so you can become wealthy, then spend all your time sleeping in and golfing.

Just lol at playing games when you're supposed to want to run around in a field hitting a ball with metal sticks, you fukking child.

If you don't live in a gated community that has it's own golf course (so you can play whenever you want), you're just a child obsessed with playing games and goofing off. Fukking lol at video games.

tell your uncle to f off

you do what you enjoy in life

i'm 51 and play , life isn't about acceptance from other people on what they think is good or bad

they can have their opinion , to themselves

most that cast light on you have their own problems they should be addressing

their way of avoiding themselves is to focus on what they think you are doing wrong

I can also agree with this. If someone is going to criticize, it always cracks me up when they watch TV all day, especially **** like CNN or something worthless.
