you just be a good mindless cattle and let them catalogue your face okay. identifying and shaming anybody who went to protest the removal of a confederate statue was just the beginning. well now your face is attached to all of your online opinions and if you dissent and it gains traction you might see your face on a white supremacist article. you'll get fired and people will be urged to bash you.

I care just to keep up with the techno world. I don't want to be the grandpa that doesn't even know how to set the clock on the microwave.

I'm upgrading to the Note 8 and once I get it I don't think i'll need a computer (or a wallet for that matter) anymore.

I can;

-pay bills online
-Use Samsng pay to make purchases
-watch movies
-send email
-do my homework and submit it online
-buy and swipe movie tickets
-play games

and if I want to see all of this on a larger screen I can get the dock that projects the phones screen onto a monitor and use a keyboard to type out messages and the stylus as a "mouse". Its got a fast enough processor that it can act as my main computer. The only thing it would have problems doing is being a gaming PC and thats only a few years away at best.

any kind of bio scan sucks the technology isn't advanced enough to work properly. If the fingerprint scanner gets too smudged or cracked it won't work

face and iris scanners only work if you look exactly the same on the day you set it up. If you're wearing glasses or a hat or its dark outside or you got a haircut or if you're wearing colored contacts or grow a beard then its going to be fidgety and it can easily be bypassed if someone steals a picture of your face and holds it up to the phone.

I have an older car too man, got that adapter and still works fine. Only issue is can't charge and listen simultaneously. They do sell dual dongle cords but haven't copped one of those yet. I need to though

brb maybe it keeps a running tab on faces so if you lose weight its adjusting over time.. same with age etc.
brb maybe facial hair or those regions are not hot spots for the recognition.

we don't know yet so lets calm down and chit on it after they drop the keynote.
Ha ha you're right. lol Let's wait to see

I have a fingerprint scanner on my phone (LG G6). If it doesn't work there is a backup way to unlock your phone that it makes you set up. (pattern, passcode)

i use my fingerprint and talk to my phone pretty regularly, i do want it.

i dont care about facial recognition, fingerprint works well enough. keeps my phone locked if i lose it and its seemless to unlock my phone when i need to.

i dictate texts via voice all the time when i am playing games, tell my phone to turn on my flashlight when i dig around my dark garage... much easier to just say 'ok google do ____' then go thru menus or options in my phone

some of you are also retarded, if facial/fingerprint doesnt work it just prompts you for a pin to get into your phone... you dont get locked out of your phone... how dense do you have to be

i guess if you swipe up off the failsafe entry and can place an emergency call- thats great. but for a lot of Americans without healthcare (or maybe they have a warrant) they will avoid calling the cops. easier to call a family member or friend to come scoop you up.

just playing the devils advocate here. technology is great. it wont seem so great when a child needs help and cant figure out moms phone. or say i find someone brutally hurt roadside, and my phone is dead. i grab their phone to call for help and im locked out immediately... blah.
1) Whether your phone had any type of passcode/password/fingerprint scanners or not you'd still have to touch your phone to swipe to just open it and then dial 9-1-1. Unless you tell siri to dial 911 but if your speech is slurred good luck lol
2) Technolody is always a double edged sword. That same child that may need to access moms phone is fine and all to unlock it, but what if that child was actually some thug that got a hold of moms phone because she left it in her purse and he just mugged her, or she left it at the restaurant table and some thug walks up and now has a phone without any security? Has access to all her stuff now js

My thinking exactly. Like everything, my guess is these features are added just to keep people in jobs. It's all so pointless. Who the heck wants talk out loud to alexis or whatever you call it? lol. Regarding unlocking, nothing will ever beat a passcode, why try to fix something that isn't broke?

But couldn't you do all that stuff like 5 years ago? None of that impresses me in the slightest but each to their own.

INB4 phone locks you out because you don't have required facial aesthetics.

They wouldn't possibly allow governments and other shady agencies *cough* NSA *cough* to eaves drop on the "private" data stored on your face. I mean, this is the company that has multiple security leaks every year and no small vulnerabilities either.

When an access feature is ground breaking technology for their newest model it's clear they are out of ideas....
