Carrie the original.
It was a very depressing movie about a girl with a lot of misery in her life. Spacek is a great actress but I didn't find it scary or even interesting. That final jump at the end might scare some, but it was pretty pathetic since this is considered one of the best scary movies of all time. I was expecting more.

A problem with most of the "Greatest films of all time" is that so many aspects of them are taken, used, copied, blatantly or otherwise that now we have become used to them. These revolutionary and groundbreaking qualities are already so ingrained into our heads by now that these aforementioned films don't have the same effect on us as they would at the time they were first introduced

In defense of the Nolan Batman films, they really were the ushers for the current run of exceptional superhero films we have now. DC had only 2 viable films prior, Batman 89 and Superman 78) and Marvel had nothing. All the X-men films sucked, Hulk sucked, Daredevil was horrifying, I would say that Spiderman 2002 was the only thing Marvel did well before its broke things open with Ironman, and that was Columbia, not Marvel studios.
The Nolan Batman films grounded the superhero genre and gave it realism. I would consider them classics, and well made films. DC hasnt made a good films since Nolan, until Wonder Woman.

Forrest Gump
The Big Lebowski, had multiple people tell me I would love it, had to turn it off.
Hangover, not terrible, but close.

For example, I find a movie like "Citizen Kane" highly overrated but I understand and consider it a classic for what it did and represented at the time. I don't know, I'm a rather dumb person lmao.
Anyway, my list:
1. Pulp Fiction
2. Godfather movies
3. Apocalypse Now
4. 2001 Space Odyssey
5. Shawshank Redemption

If you dont like the Nolan batman movies youre probably a one dimensional person with limited life experiences. Ive had some pretty bad stuff happen and i loved the themes they weave into the story that are easy to miss.

I reluctantly agree with pulp fiction because I loved it for so long when it was a fresh movie, but we have become desensitized to these movies now and they don't hold the same effect they did for the decade following their release.
Just like 2001 a space odyssey, it was a classic for so long because of its special effects and overall uniqueness but NOW, it is **** special effects and a storyline that has become very very boring in comparison to the last 20 years of film.
With fight club the whole "im an antisocial protagonist who wants to fight the system and I am actually a badass but no one in society knows it" is played out over and over and over and its lost its appeal. But bringing yourself back to that time and the creativeness of the director and the acting and the storyline for the time, its great.
Anyway I am REALLY going to stick my neck out but Shawshank redemption has always been my most overrated classic movie I thought was "meh" to "**** waste of time"
The storyline is literally a guy is wrongfully imprisoned, he meets a wise old black man with a fatherly voice, he breaks out of prison, some old man kills himself, the main character and the wise old black man(Samuel l Jackson) live happily every after and free.
Why that 1 sentence needed to be drug on into 2.5 hours of film is beyond me and why everyone thinks its the greatest most original story ever is even more perplexing.

Andy was able to be a free soul and content with his life in Shawshank while not giving up hope of a life for him on the outside when he was innocent all along. Could you do that? I'd probably be bitter as fuk. Not to mention the themes of friendship, finding peace, redemption, the role evil plays in authority figures, suicide, despair etc
It touches just about every aspect of human existence. Fuk out with that happy ever after ****. This is one that's not overrated.

Avatar - I just can't connect with funny looking animated faces. Like, during the serious scenes, I can't feel anything for them because they just look stupid. Does that make sense?
Fight Club - I admit i've only seen it once, while a little drunk, but I just found it messy, weird directing choices and effects and just feel there are better movies out there that have similar plots.
Jaws - It hasn't aged well at all.
Mad Max Fury Road - Never seen the originals, but god it was awful. Stupid overacting, boring chase scenes and a post apocalyptic world that I just didn't think was fun to sit through.
Gravity - Anyone who knows anything about space knows how stupidly unrealistic this movie was. Cast Away in space but way more boring.
it Follows - It was all going pretty well until the swimming pool scene which was stupid. Too many horror movies before this one had swimming pool scenes where the protagonists try to kill the antagonist. It was a good concept but poorly executed and could have been much, much creepier. It also doesn't make much sense. We are lead to believe that it follows, as in, it can't teleport near to you. it will always follow you though. So what happens if you drive to the airport and hop on a plane from the US to Europe. How will it follow you then? Swim across the ocean? It only seems to slowly walk too, so you'd never have to worry about it.

Lawrence is about being a truly awesome person, and it really doesn't matter.

Rebel is iconic mainly for Jimmy dying before its release and being one of the first films that the American youth at the time could relate to, find attachment to and have since grown up with. The previous generation was involved in a world war in some way or another which affected the relationships of large numbers of families. There are three different people from three different family backgrounds covering a large demographic of teenagers going through similar stage sin their life so they could relate to the film very easily. Plus the fact Rock n Roll was just coming through which changed the world and the lifestyle of teenagers.

A clockwork orange
The themes are interesting, but compared to every other Kubrick, it seeems so badly made, i.e.
Poor framing, out of focus, bad editing, discordant soundtrack etc. Etc.
I'm fairly sure it was deliberate, but as Truffaut said, "Le mange de la Chien est let Receivable pour des autres"
