It's completely random. My whole adulthood people would say to me "you're going to have the best pregnancy because you eat healthy and you're in great shape" "Labor is going to be so easy for you because you're in such great shape" Nope, nope, nope. Horrendous pregnancy and horrible labor. No idea why. It's why he's an only child. lol

My brother's GF is a personal trainer, overly health-conscious, bragged about her abs before she got pregnant. iirc she took a bunch of supplements and the like to supposedly "help" with the labor, make the delivery go quick and smooth, etc. A bunch of preggoscience I've never heard of.

She wound up in labor for like 36 hours until they finally gave her some drugs to jumpstart everything.

I didn't take anything to try to help delivery go faster. Mine wasn't that long thank God! I think it was around 18 hours.
