Sorry to hear that you’re a mentally weak soft beta that can’t give up your carbs

All it does is make your metabolism adapt. Love how you avoid talking about it’s major appetite suppressing benefits though, seeing as there’s nothing better than feeling full while you’re cutting. Making it an obviously superior diet for leaning out

Thanks for playing, but you lose

I’m gonna go and eat my Tex mex bowl now while you eat your pizza you fukkin panzy

it's not good to be in keto forever unless you have medical problems requiring you to.

best to cycle in and out for best health gains

not sure how you've seen magical gains after just 6 days. Typically takes around that long just to enter ketosis

Also are you actually tracking carbs? Not sure how you manage to eat almonds while trying to stay in ketosis.

you will never know the mental gains that you have on keto. it's like you're a totally different person. your iq goes up 5-10 points, your memory and your cognitive thinking. it's insane. have fun with your brain fog days.

I felt amazing on day 5, kinda crappy days 1-3. And I’ve dropped ~5 lbs in those 6 days and kept my calories at maintenance, so I know it was just water loss. My face looks better and I’m more defined in just 6 days so I’d say that’s a nice change in such a short amount of time.

Almonds have 2g of net carbs per serving. You would need to eat about 20 servings of almonds per day before you’d even be close to going out of ketosis

And yes, fuk the pie and stuffing. What is that going to do for me? If people would stop eating junk “cheat foods”, they wouldn’t get cravings for junk “cheat foods”. I never eat pie so I never crave it

Retarded diet. You eventually break down proteins and fats in order to produce glycogen, the body doesnt just get rid of all its glycogen stores and then keep them that way. All these "fad" diets are not sustainable. Eat a well rounded diet and cut caloric intake if you need to lose weight, add calories if need to gain weight. You dont stop eating carbs and suddenly tap into the holy grail of anything, you are probably just taxing your kidneys a bit more in order to filter out all the nitrates from added protein breakdown.

OP be careful with long term keto/low carb. I wouldn't go low in carbs for longer than a month. I messed up my thyroid/cortisol levels for life and now i gotta take some HRT. Not sure if it actually for life though but gonna take my meds soon. I've never been able to get as lean as I did 3 years ago + horrible symptoms that have messed up my life.

Stay safe brahs.

No, the broscience comes from people in the fitness community pedalling these fad diets without any knowledge of the bodys processes or nutrition in general. Making ridiculous claims based on anecdotal evidence "b-b-but I lost 6 lbs in a week, b-b-b-ut my autistic face looks better now"

This isnt how science and medicine works. If you wish to make a claim that a specific protocol has a huge positive effect, you must present credible peer reviewed evidence with data that says so. This data must be recreated by others without financial interest from anyone that may have a stake in such claims.

Coming online and making wild claims based on theoretical ways you think your body might behave to a certain diet and pedalling it as truth is broscience. Questioning these assertions and requiring evidence is the scientific process.

With that said, Ill address your wild claims with basic college 101 level biology and physiology.
When you break it down into components, its pretty easy to dismiss these ridiculous notions that you can somehow tell your organs to use a certain fuel

1) Muscles use energy from different sources of macronutrients (carbs, fats, proteins) in that order
2) The percent they use these ,macro-nutrients is dependent on the intensity of the activity and the type of fiber you are using (This can be determined using an RER or RQ ratio)
3) The slower twitch the fiber and the less intense the activity, the greater % comes from fats
4) You can alter your ability to use fats not by eating more fats, but by adaptively training specific muscles to be more aerobic--adapations that increase mitochondria ability to utilize oxygen for aerobic metabolism

1) The body will store needed glycogen in muscle tissue within the actual fibers themselves
2) The body will store most of the required fats within the actual fiber themselves
3) The intramuscular stores themselves make up the greatest % of energy used during any activity--blood glucose and fatty acids are very tiny amount

What this comes down to meaning is that you can eat 100% calories from fat. You still need glucose and glycogen to fuel the pathways that run on glucose and glycogen. So the body will create glucose and glycogen from fats. Its a pretty well known process knwon as gluconeogensis and from there glycogen can just as easily be created. Less efficient? Sure. But in the end you still have regular blood sugar (else youd pass out) and you still are using glucose, glucogen as well as fats for activity dependent on the activity and how trained you are.

The fuel does not determine what is burned, but rather the muscle determines what fuel to use.

In the gym, definite strength loss. Could be because I'm still adapting but chit feelsheavy, man.

About day 4 I got the keto flu but it wasn't too bad and it was over pretty quickly.

Face looks a little more defined but still too early to tell I think.
After in Keto for at least 10-14 days, I've found that my muscles don't look as big(and don't become as pumped as they would normally), but the amount of weight I can lift and general lifting endurance is definitely improved. There will be times when I can keep doing reps of weights that would have put me at failure after 4 or 5 previously.

In general, this diet gives people the confidence to lose massive amounts of weight. Cheap carbs are responsible for most of the obesity in the US, and it's quite eye-opening to witness what happens when your body is used to burning fat instead of carbs for energy. Greatly improved mood and feeling of well-being.

you sound like a flatearther. keto is not a diet but a way of changing your habits and body. keto helps with sugar addiction and even mood. helps with brain injuries, diseases, cancer, etc. there are many benefits to a keto diet but you're too boxed in to your little world. not open minded.

you can also do a low carb "diet" if you wish to fix certain problems such as leaky gut or candida overgrowth. usually best if paired with some sort of fasting. again, ketosis isn't meant for you to be on it year round but a certain amount of months for healing purposes. cycling on and off is best. even fasting a full day, a few times a year is great.

lol @ 100% fat diet and gluconeogenesis. as you progress into ketosis for a few months your body will adapt and become more efficient at using fat as a fuel source. i can go into ketosis now within 2-3 days whereas before it took me a damn week. i was in ketosis for 2 months and i just got more efficient as time progressed. then i cycled off. now i plan on cycling on again for a bit, etc.

you're still eating carbs... as long as you keep it under 50g daily mostly from veggie sources.

under keto i was eating 1000-1500 calories a day while intermittent fastingbecause i could not physically eat any more.when i eat moderate or high carb, i can eat upwards of 5000 calories a day and still feel hungry.

i don't really give a fukk what you think or pander. i've seen the results myself, done months worth of research and seen others succeed.

keto is for people with:

lactic acidosis
clogged arteries
leaky gut
digestion problems
yeast/candida overgrowth
brain injuries
cancer
dementia
alzheimer's
parkinson's
ETC ETC ETC

i can keep going. as they say, the proof is in the pudding.

Lost like 4-5 lbs of water weight total. Also feel much more energetic and healthier now, since keto basically forces you to eat Whole Foods. If you’re cutting or maintaining, a keto diet is pretty easy to do. It’s a bit harder for a bulk but it’s still possible

Strongest pseudo-intellectual I've ever seen in my life.

No chit you still produce glycogen, you just wont have it inexcess. After your carb intake is restricted for a few days, glycogen stores in the muscle are reduced. Since glycogen is responsible for water retention, when glycogen levels fall, so do our water levels. That is a fact.

So yes, you will lose water weight very quickly in the first few days and it will stay off as long as you remain low-carb/ketogenic. Tapping into the holy grail of the dryness look is achieved with keto.

Just lol at it being a "fad" diet

Brb the appetite suppressing effect of ketogenic diets is so strong that in many studies, people report being less hungry even after substantial weight loss on the diet.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25402637

Brb Ketogenic diets do not adversely affect any relevant biomarker of health in most studies and are generally considered very safe.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23651522

Brb many people find that keto diets increase mental performance and wellbeing compared to higher carb diets

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19212822

Please, tell me more how keto is a fad diet.

It will lead to less water retention. Carbs promote holding water, thus filling you out. Couple this with salt, and you can experience bloat. 1 gram of carbs requires 3-4 grams of water to process it
