Gym is also fashionable nowadays. Gym goers used to look up to Jay Cutler & Ronnie Coleman as their idols. Now people are inspired by random people on IG/YouTube that all have the same cookie cutter look, tattoos, post motivational quotes, try to sell supps via discount codes etc...
That being said I have nothing against it. Let them do whatever they want to do wont affect me in any way. Only thing I hate is how squats/deadlifts have become so trendy. They removed some of the best hammer strength/Life Fitness machines to make room for more squat racks & CrossFit chit at my gym. So annoying. RIP HS Low Row, HS shoulder press, LF dip machine... you will all be missed. 1 liek = 1 crie

It's not like I'm telling them to stop.So much LOL in this thread. So if you wear a Garmin watch because you train for triathlons in your time outside the gym, but use it in the gym to track your heart rate while lifting and measure rest time between sets, you're cringy? If you wear a tshirt you're clingy? If you don't post selfies you 'don't have a physique to show'?
All of what I mentioned above is coping. Just like these comments normally come from guys that basically shave themselves completely and constantly flex in mirrors in the gym in front of everyone trying to get the perfect post-workout pump selfie. Just LOL.
And to the 'lift but never mention it to anyone' crew - do you not have friends with similar interests? I talk about lifting with people who are into lifting. Novel idea, I know, but there are some people who share interests and enjoy discussing their experiences with one another - sort of like a bodybuilding forum encourages...

Yet 90% of them look average

Most cringey is when one of those dudes jumps to you midset and tells you "I'm here keep going, 3 more reps" - wtf man not gonna go to failure on my first set gtfo

Bodybuilding in general is pretty cringey. And many weightlifters will look down on anyone performing an exercise that doesn't involve moving as much weight as possible because they are constantly trying to stroke their own egos and just don't understand the purpose of many exercises people do in the gym.

The ones who view the gym as a battlefield and like their life is on the line with every workout then have nothing else to offer? Yeah that's 100% cringey. There's nothing exceptional about giving 100% in the gym and building a respectable physique while other aspects of your life are lacking.
Now someone who can give 100% in the gym then allow that mindset to carry over into other aspects of life and excel at everything they do? That's something to admire IMO, sadly for many of these fitness models there's no substance or depth to who they are.

It just means you're getting old. Right now you may think you're getting smarter or something. In a few years, you'll long for the days where you were young enough to be able to be the jacked gym brah banging the sloots taking selfies because you're hip young gym people. You do that stuff at 20 because at 30 all you can be is the creepy old guy with muscles.
It's like being a fashion model in zoolander. Are you stupid? Yeah. But it's ok. Because you're something even better: really, ridiculously good looking. And you're better than the smart ugly people. Gym brah or gym sloot, you're young and in your physical prime stretching it to the max hanging out with other physically prime peak humans. You don't need to be smart. That's why it's awesome. That's what it's all about.
So I'm guessing you're maybe 24, probably 25-28.

I would hazard to say that most people that write inspirational quotes about gymming, sacrifice etc etc, are so obsessed with the gym that NOT going to the gym would be harder than going in most days, which makes their point null.
Once gymming is an ingrained habit it aint hard to do, so bragging about it is just a way to feel superior over everyone else for a fairly ordinary activity, as it is no different than playing a sport.

Crossfitters take up a lot of space and look very busy with multiple pieces of equipment whilst logging in their times for their WOD insta updates.

Is gymshark actually cringe worthy? I only see a couple people in my gym wear it. I ordered some chit on black friday because it was 30% off but now I'm tempted not to wear it...

Wear what you wanna wear though. I never see Gymshark apparel, and it gets hate online but most people wouldn't care if they saw it.
