there is nothing wrong with it. It is a sitcom, not a mockumentary or some hipster intellectual cartoon like bojack horseman or rick and morty. Its fine for what it is, and compared to some of the chit the major networks put out now, the top of pile.

people have become spoiled by premium cable shows, nothing a major network puts out now has any substance or depth and it's all rating grabs for ADD americans and they are pressured heavily by the FCC censorship crew to make all content family safe.

yes I watch Big bang and I think its great for background noise and I look forward to the new episode - but I don't think it's some marvelous incredibly great story/joke telling either.
