What is everyone's Top 5 gun or firearms-related purchase priorities for 2018? Not your "wish list" but what you actually intend to seek out and buy. Could be weapons, ammo, accessories, training, etc.

Here's mine:

- Renew gun club membership and determined to get there more often
- Upgrade electronic lock on gun safe to an electromechanical redundant lock (keypad with option for mechanical as backup)
- More ammo . . . probably some .40 since the price sounds like it was coming down and also more defensive ammo for handguns
- New handgun . . . either take the plunge on a 10mm or large bore revolver or look into a CZ 9mm of some kind. I'll do one of those three this year.
- Take a class of some kind . . . most likely handgun, but need to look into options/interest and pick something.

GO!
Acquire more ammo than I shoot (so 'stock' goes up), without limiting my shooting to do so.

Go to at least one (1 day min) training class.

Shoot more (often and total rounds) than last year, which was a down year for that. Back on the pace I had in 2016 would be good.

Go to more Appleseeds than I have been.

Shoot some of my guns that have been idle in the safe for too long.

It's been -time to buy- for so long + the rebates and deals last year that I don't have any urgency for acquiring anything. Just keep trickling in ammo and maybe a few mags I guess, and look for screaming good deals here and there. I should probably put "set up reloading equipment at new house and actually do some loading"...IDK...might be easier to just look for components and stuff on sale and plan to take the time to reload when ammo prices suck again sometime in the future

2018 Goals:
- A new bolt-action .22lr after I sell my current one. I'd like a threaded, shorter barrel.
- More ammo (particularly .223)
- More shooting
I'm not blessed with riches, but I am rich with blessings.
Thank you, LORD, my God.

GO!
- ammo for sure. I want to up my on hand stash

- possibly a VP9SK. I want a double stack compact for carry. Have an XD Mod.2 w/ Grip ZoneTM, but thinking I want to replace it with something with less bad press. Kinda lame losing capacity for that size package, but figure I can keep a spare full size mag somewhere if I really want it.

- possibly a Shield. Would be nice to have something smaller for more concealment options at times.

- more lights.

- pistol upper and related accessories (light, optics, sling, etc.)

Not in any particular order.

ETA: I also need more pistol mags.

- I just got an LCP, so I am planning on getting some practice with that soon.
- Want to shoot the GP100 more too, want to get a holster for it.
- Hoping to get a .22lr just so I can afford to go shooting more often.
- Need more ammo for everything.
- Going to get my state's concealed carry permit (had one before in a different state, moved and haven't gotten a new one yet).

If that finally happens, then my list is getting amended to add suppressor(s) on there, depending on how glorious the sale prices will be.

What happened with reciprocity? Is that still in the works?

I think what happened overall is Republicans aren't as gun friendly as many like to think, and it's hard to find one dem anywhere anytime to go against the party position, so HPA was never going to happen...and for reciprocity I suppose the same thing + even gun people don't all want it and the ones that want it most have dem representatives so the fact that they want it doesn't really matter

Oh of course not. I think most Reps (or Dems that a "pro gun") are the "I support the 2nd Amendment, but..." types. I know HPA kind of fell of the radar for now, but thought reciprocity still had a chance.

I think Vegas and the Texas shooting were the end to any feel-good push on HPA. Nobody wants to get that topic out in front right now, especially in a mid-term election year.
