Hnng at all the creepy stories
OP your story could be fight or flight. Massive dump of adrenaline shuts down the rational zone of the brain
His rage prob caused his pupils to dilate and your primitive brain exaggerates the threat and runs wild
Here is mine. Mid 20's, ~5 roomates and friends on my balcony and three bright lights appear on the sky blinking in patterns. Id never done drugs and was sober. We all seen it and were blown away. Looked up UFO sighting websites in the following weeks and read a few similar reports but never anything concrete.

Mind you, he abandonded his family when my mother was young and she never heard from him again. Out of nowhere, after 40 years, she and my grandmother start having recurring dreams that he was trying to contact them and that a woman was scolding them for not doing so themselves. These dreams led to them googling his name to find him. What came up? An obituary.

A majority of the things discussed in this thread are easily explainable.
The brain plays tricks on you. The brain isn't perfect. In laymen's terms, your brain is exposed to so much stimuli (seeing objects, smell, hearing, etc.) at once that interpreting all this stimuli would overwhelm the brain. So, how does the brain function properly without being overwhelmed? It fills in the gaps and makes assumptions of your surroundings based off of previous experiences. Your brain isn't perfect, and occasionally makes errors. You also experience what you want to experience (you see and hear what you want to see and hear).
An interesting example of the brain fukking up is the onset of stimulant psychosis and "shadow people". Further research into this reveals that these hallucinations develop as a result of the sleep deprivation side effect that comes along with stimulant drugs. This is a failure of the brain to interpret it's surroundings, and it begins to "fill in the gaps" inappropriately. It's entirely possible for people not under the influence of drugs/sleep deprivation to also have misinterpretations in the brain.
I highly recommend anyone interested in this subject to pick up the book "Don't Believe Everything You Think" by Thomas E. Kida.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002F9MYQ2...ng=UTF8&btkr=1
It delves into natural biases that humans have evolved to help them survive. These natural biases often result in irrational thinking, and can even lead to people seeing/hearing/believing things like in this thread.
I'm not saying any of you brahs are wrong, but I am saying that you can't always trust your brain.

I'd also be interested in looking at similarities between all these people who claim to experience the same things. Ethnicity/race, sexual orientation, political views, level of education, upbringing, personality traits, and interests etc.

So many stories exist just because I initiated with some fake sightings of me.
You just have to seem convinced of i.e. having seen a wolf in the bushes near the tent and out of 9 buddies like 2 were with me and would discuss that **** with the others.
At the end everybody was talking about the wolf and how we ****ing saw a wolf when we were camping in the woods (wild wolves were extinct here at that time)
It's mostly just mind games but ppl need to find some simple reason they understand and thus refer to demons/angels/ghots in my opinion - no disrespect towards any of you religious/spiritual guys here it's just the way I see things

To add a story of my own:
~4 years ago I was sleeping every night at my ex's house which is about 10 miles away from my family's home.
Every morning I would drive back home (while gf was doing her morning routine which was like 1hr lol) before driving to university.
There are 2 routes, one on a highway and one through a little village.
I used to have some weird dreams when at the morning my gf got up and I slept for another 30 min while she was getting ready but making noises and thus I was merely asleep and had those weird dreams that felt like you just spent hours exploring stuff only to wake up and realize that only 3 minutes have passed.
Anyways when driving home I always took the highway route but one night I had one of these dreams about a horrible car crash where I would crawl out of my sidewindow (car was flipped sideways) just to look into the incoming bright yellow headlights of a car racing towards me. I woke up and was full of adrenaline, to this day I remember that scene. It felt like I got told the way I die today.
A former friend of mine died at that place about 3 years prior to my dream when he (just like me in my dream) crashed into an unsecured accident scene.
To this day I took the highway route a total of 5 times at max and only when there was low traffic and everytime I was checking my rear window like crazy for the upcoming car with the yellow headlights.
Probably just sheningans but I didn't want to take the risk to see if it was "just a dream"

When I was 13-14 me and a few friends would sometimes spend a few hours and go deep into the woods, like a 1 hour walk in to our little hangout spot where we would light small fires, dare eachother to drink bud lights we stole from dads lol, occasionally we would have shty weed or cigs. Well a couple times when we were out there, we all just felt really weird, like someone was watching us. My friend swore he saw someone running in the distance and freaked out but we convinced him he was just bugging out. Well the next time we show up to our spot, nailed to the tree next to our pit are about 15 kodak pictures of us, some are of us hanging out at the spot, and others are of us walking to it along trails (half hour walk away), all of the pictures were taken from a distance. We could tell the pictures were from 3-4 separate occasions, because we had different clothes on in them. We all look at eachother, shtting our pants, when we hear this loud laughter not too far away. It was one person laughing menacingly, couldn't even say if it was a man or woman. We turned around and absolutely sprinted back to where we came from. After 10 minutes of running we hear this loud yelling / shreiking noise from far behind us, whoever it was had tried to follow us. We never went back there again. Years later I would go for walks in those woods with my dog, I went back to our old spot a number of times, but never saw anything.

Also another one I just thought of
Had a dream that I was riding a bike down some street, hearing organ church music. I ride up to a church with the doors open and go inside. Up at the front of the Chapel is an older woman facing the wall playing the organ, there is no one else in the church. I walk up to this lady and sit down next to her and start playing with her. She turns to me and i realize it's my grandma. Then she tells me she is sorry but has to leave, and walks out of the church, i kept playing. The next day my mom calls me and tells me my grandma passed away in the hospital

Where I grew up we had neighbours who were farmers, they were hard working honest folk. Anyway the farmer came over to our house one night with his son to speak to my father and say they had seen this guy near their house and to be on the lookout in case he was on the rob.
Anyway my father asked them what he looked like and asked if he looked like a "gypsy" because they often came around our area on the rob.
They said he didn't look like a gypsy and was a weird looking dude. They saw him standing in a tree line looking at their house about 100 yards away. He was thin, extremely pale and had white hair, maybe in his 40's 50's and the weird thing was he was dressed in a suit... in the countryside.
We had two large male German shepherds who were schutzhund trained so weren't worried because if anybody came around and did anything we'd let them out etc.
Anyway that night around 10pm the farmer called my dad and asked if he would go around to the farm and bring the dogs because his wife had said she saw the guy standing in their yard in the rain just looking at his house and he only had his 16 year old son and a shotgun and he was worried.
My father took a rifle, his truck with a spotlight, and the two dogs and went over to his house.
Anyway to cut a long story short they looked for him, couldn't find him, and called the cops.
Nobody seen him again until two days later
My father is driving home around 4pm, it is a quiet country road and here is this guy standing at the side of the road.
My father said he was slim, tall, completely pale, blonde/white hair and a grey suit and around 50-60 years old.
He stops the car and says to the guy "do you want a lift?" and the guy looks at him and says nothing and then reaches out and looks like he is going to open the drivers door and then says something but it sounds like he is speaking backwards and then says what my father thinks is his name, he then stops and starts walking slowly around the other side of the car. This freaks out my dad so much he takes off down the road, he says he see the guy In the rear mirror standing in the middle road with his arms outreached, anyway he calls the cops, calls the farmer...they get the dogs, guns and head back up the road to see who the fuc this guy is... and he is gone.
My dad and the farmer end up calling some locals and they go out all night looking for this dude with spotlights , dogs, the cops have four cars out looking for him... everything... nobody ever sees him again.
I often ask my father to tell me about this guy when we have a few drinks, and all he says is he hopes he never comes across him again.
cliffs: weird guy stalks our neighbour and then is never seen again.

My dad used to work as a mechanic, not the sort of person to make up tales or instantly look to supernatural explanations for things.
Anyway, he was working underneath a hoisted up car or something lying on one of those boards with wheels and he kept feeling someone grab his pant bottom and hearing 'get out' etc not in an urgent way, he presumed it was his colleagues messing about. He then literally got fully dragged out from underneath and right after that happened the vehicle collapsed down onto the floor. He couldn’t find anyone in the building and he checked with his colleagues later on and they had nothing to do with it. I went through it with him to make sure there were no other factors but yeah there was definitely no-one there and he has no explanation to this day

The law of attraction; really beginning to understand the power of mind and its affect on the external is a real trip sometimes.

It was the weird thing I saw crawling towards me.. that could’ve been just my imagine but then reading the lettering on that like crypt? With the pitch black door.. and the lettering.. ugh
I feel it should get more replies on this thread so gonna post again..
ya guys this was legit real that happened when I was in college.
Forgot I had this story, still freaks me out. I love scary stuff but this just never made sense..
In college I worked for ups and they asked me to drop off a package in this small farming town if like 500 people.
There was a farm house wayyy off beaten path and it was dark out. So took me awhile to get there. I get there and the house is dark besides one old school candle in the window, that’s it. Whatever, farmers are cool people just old school.
There packages were kinda weird. Medical stuff for old people- diapers, oxygen masks, syringes, etc.
Anyways, I bring a flashlight with me so I can see how to walk to the house cause it’s pitch black. When I walk up I notice this white bricked shed building, although to me it looked like a crypt.
I go up to the house drop off the stuff and I turn around w my flashlight. I chit you not I turned around to make sure packages were good and I thought I saw something in the leaves/grass running towards me.. like crawling really quickly. I jumped n pointed flashlight st the same spot... nothing
So for whatever reason I point the flashlight at that Crypt building..
*This is where it gets really weird*
The crypt building had 2 windows. Both blacked out. I mean blacked out totally and very small..
And there was a door which was pitch black and to the right off the door in red lettering on the white bricks was “please don’t make me hurt you”
And above the black door was “ enter’.
I didn’t stick around long enough to look anymore. I fuking ran to the truck and got the eff outta there. To this day that gives me chills
Idk what the eff was crawling in the grass. Idk what that crypt was for or the message cause ya don’t get guests out middle of nowhere and idk what the eff was w those weird packages
Truth is out there

weirdest thing thats ever happened to me:
When i was really young, like 4-6 my bed room was situated in such a way that my bed was on the opposite side of the door, and behind the door was a long hallway that went to other rooms in the house. About every night when i would look at the doorway while falling asleep i would slowly see the figure of a boy wearing a red and white striped sweater. The longer i would look at the door the more of the boy i would see. At first, i would just see his hand make its way into the doorway, and then his arm, and then most of his body. I think i might even remember him eventually walking across the doorway, not entering my room, if I hadn't fallen asleep yet.
Fast forward about 10-15 years and i always chalked it up to me just seeing **** as a kid. My dad's best friend lived in the house beside us and they still kept in touch after we moved. I was randomly talking to my dad about ghost stories one day (neither of us really believe in "ghosts"), and i told my dad about the boy I had seen.
I **** you not, his eyes got wide, and he asked me if the boy was wearing red and white striped shirt, I told him yes, and asked how the hell he knew that. Apparently the older lady that moved in after us had told my neighbor about this little boy she kept seeing in the house, and he had asked my dad, but my dad had never seen anything, so told our old neighbor that he had no idea what he was talking about.
Thats an absolutely true story, and I have no explanation.

I have two that I can think of right now.
First... This occurred when I was grade school age in the early 90's (between 8-10 yr old). I lived and grew up in rural southern West Virginia. Me and my Maw-Maw would set on her porch every evening and chill out and talk.
One evening when it was just starting to get dark my Maw-Maw noticed a star over a mountain top that was brighter than the other stars but not much bigger (the mountain top was probably over a mile away).
We both were looking at it, trying to figure out what it was (air plane, north star, etc..) when it suddenly shot up into the air and disappeared. There was noway that it was a plane or anything we could explain with it moving as quickly as it did.
This happened around the same time every evening for the next several days and each time it would stay in the same spot for 30 minutes or longer before shooting away. We couldn't figure out how far away the light was and we never did figure out what it was.
I always figured it was something military related due to it being in rural WV. Think about it, you are not gonna have many witnesses and if you do, people would just think they were dumb hillbillies.
Second... This was about 10 years ago working as Police Officer in Florida. I worked night shift for my agency at the time (1800-0600) and was assigned to a zone that had several 55+ mobile home communities.
We would get 911 hangups all the time and would have to go check it out. I kept getting dispatched, probably a couple times a week to a 911 hangup at a vacant mobile home. Each time dispatch would advise that there was no answer on call back and the call was only static on the line.
One night I got dispatched to it and this time dispatch advised that the call was static with what sounded like someone moaning on the other end. I went out to the vacant mobile home that the call was coming from and checked around the property. I could see into the dusty windows that there was still furniture and items inside the home. There was a car, also covered in dust in the carport. It did not appear that anyone had recently been in or living in the residence.
Due to hearing moaning on the line I wanted to investigate further, just to make sure no one was inside the residence needing assistance. I went to the next door neighbors and knocked on the door, an older gentleman came to the door and I asked him if anyone was staying in the mobile home next to his. He advised that the women who lived next door passed away several months back and no one has occupied the mobile home and/or been in or out of it due to her having no living family in the area.
I then went a little further and checked with the communities front office. The phone number on the 911 hangup matched the number registered to the deceased resident at the now vacant mobile home. I was also informed by the office that the power and phone had been cut off for that mobile home for quite awhile.
Now I don't believe in ghosts, but that freaked me out so I called my dispatch on my cell phone and told them from that point on to dispatch another officer as primary to that address if a 911 hangup was received.

i used to do my daily jogs at night (quiet and it gave me an adrenaline rush being afraid of the dark), one night as i was jogging i see someone else jogging on the opposite side of the road jogging opposite of me
when we were parallel i noticed it wasnt a person wearing gray sweatpants and sweatshirt but mist in human shape floating.
i used to work in a nursing home, an old lady was on her way out and i went in to check on her. she ask me if im there to take her away, i tell her no
she ask me if im there to protect her from the people in her room, i said yes.
obviously i had to leave the room because i had other things to do. she passed later that night.
my family has a ton of stories, latinos believe in a lot of chit

Just read all these holy chit misc.
I have Ouija Board experience, used to live next to a huge cemetery. Used Ouija board a few times, had sleep paralysis on/off a few times a week for a year or two.
Used to see ghost like figures, hear people yelling in my ear too when I had sleep paralysis. Very messed up.
Stopped having sleep paralysis when I moved.

Around 5 years ago I went to a lake I typically go to for a good hike; I like it because there is hardly ever anyone out there so I can go off the trail and explore a bit and let my dog off her leash. It's in the middle of nowhere only accessible by a few miles of dirt road. One of the bridges to it actually has a haunting story but I'm not one to buy into that stuff.
I had done some reading on night hiking around that time and started to really enjoy it, so I thought this would be a good place to try. I had hiked this trail before, but one night it felt overwhelmingly eerie. So much that my gut kept telling me to turn around and my dog kept doing this low growl she does when someone is outside the front door. I high tailed it out of there.
Went back during the day a few weeks later and decided to go a ways off the trail and hike up one of the mountains to a cool rock ledge i spotted. Only noticed it because leaves were off the trees in the winter, can't see it during the summer. The ledge was more cliff like but it spanned as far the woods would let me see. I did some more exploring along the ledge and got quite a ways from the trail. I got to a point and felt my stomach drop, felt very uneasy, the same eerie feeling I got that night a few weeks ago. The dog did her low growl thing around that time as well, and wouldn't move but stared further up the mountain.
I looked in that direction, there was a small, very old, wooden platform barely sticking out of the ground about the size of an end table top. It was placed there with intent but very out of place as there is nothing for miles but a trail several hundred yards away. Wanted to leave but I had to know more. As I got closer I noticed three more placed very purposefully within 20 -30 feet of each other in a circular pattern. My first thought was hunting stands but that wouldn't make sense because why would you space them out in a circle and set them on the ground? one of them had a stack of very wet cardboard on top of it. Old but not old enough to have deteriorated in the elements. Very strange and unnerving.
At this point it felt like death was tapping on my shoulder, can't explain the feeling but it is very cold, felt alone, almost hopeless. I noticed the dog hadn't moved an inch from where she first stood pointing. I hightailed it out of there and never went back.
Never figured out what that was, never wish to know either but whatever it was couldn't have been a good thing. I know the end of the story is kind of a bummer but maybe one day I'll balls up and check it out. Never had a feeling like that before.

Also a lot of stuff in here about dreams.
Very strange how the mind connects dreams with reality, don't think people will every fully understand dreams of any kind.
This is not a scary story but more intriguing on the mind/body experience of dreaming.
When I was around 12-13 years old I had a dream about coming upon an old abandoned building with leaky ceilings. I could see the building and the ceilings leak from a distance but was not close enough to feel it. Very random, but I still had some hiking to do to get to the building. I vividly remember walking through a rocky field before I got there. I finally mustered up the courage to go inside, and knowing I would get wet, willingly walked in and immediately felt the water drip on my head. Woke me up instantly and my brother was sitting there with a wash cloth dripping water on my face getting me to wake up.
What I don't understand is the immediate connection that was involuntarily made with the water and the ceilings, and the premonition (of sorts) that water would drip on my head at the very instant he squeezed the wash cloth.

Sometimes I get a very strange sensation like the ceiling of the sky is only a few feet above my head. This fails to adhere to the subject though as its explainable (I know its something funny which happens in my mind).

I was in Cancun standing on the balcony of the hotel late at night and I saw something fly out from around the side of the building. A bright green egg shaped "orb" with a clearly visible halo around it, flying fast in zig zag motion for about 30 feet from my right to left, and then suddenly vanishing into thin air. One second it was there, then it wasn't. It was only 15-20 feet away from me and flying slightly lower than where I was standing(think it was the 8th floor). No clue what it was but I saw it crystal clear(no drugs).
