1. “Glamorizing” through constant media attention of previous incidents.
This is easily the biggest. Where do you think kids get these ideas? Anytime one happens this is all anyone talks about.
2. Sensitivity of kids
Kids have been bullied since the dawn of time. What’s changed is this push for holding hands and everyone being treated well to such an extreme.
I’m not saying people shouldn’t treat others well, but you have to understand it’s not a guarantee people will treat you with respect at the same time.
Kids are taught early on by these PC parents that being made fun of is some horrible crime. And as a result they never develop any sort of toughness about themselves so when they do get bullied they can’t handle it.
Bullying isn’t good but the fact is it’s always happened. What’s changed is the mindset of dealing with it.
Kids are softer, plain and simple. And it’s society’s fault.
There’s other reasons that play a role too but I think these are the biggest. Poor family structure and degradation of moral character in general could be reasons 3 and 4 if I had to pick but to a lesser extent than the top 2

A good start is to stop reducing funding for mental healthcare and stop closing down mental health facilities. Better schooling and treatment of unnecessary bullying, better staff training to try help recognize some signs that area realistic for troubled students. Also get the dirty media to stop making these idiots infamous all to try satiate their thirst for a massive news story that will help their typical agendas. Case-in-point that fuking retard asking someone who got out "Was there a lot of blood?". SMH.
There's no solution directly for "school shootings", it's going back to the root causes of mental health and also realizing you can never be rid of evil. As far as guns, well more stringent checks, tougher penalties, but you will find most people with registered guns are law-abiding, normal people. As someone posted, back in times when it was 10x easier to get a gun there was less of these types of shootings. Of course the other side wants to directly just blame guns, but that's because they are narrow-minded and have limited mental capacities themselves.
On a side note: The whole pampering and coddling of children/younger teens, plus everyone living on social media will continue to ruin crucial social development. We're going to have more and more mentally disturbed people. It doesn't help clinical mental illnesses such as transgenderism are being CONDONED everywhere you see and passed off as something "normal". Everyone is WAY too over-sensitive because acting offended and hysterical gets you sympathy and gains you power. It's a fuking circus out there in many countries, not just the people but the politicians.

Lack of empathy, compassion, and valuing a human life.
Thanks to social media and the massive increase in population the value of human life has gone down DRAMATICALLY among people.
There's a huge disconnect between people and the real world along with REAL human interactions thanks to social media, which inevitable is worsening the value of human life.

I do worry about all the kids on anti depressants and similar meds. From talking to parents it seems more and more common. Taking this chit can't be good for brains that are still developing.

My dad doesn't understand it either, he's super religious so he's blaming godlessness on it too. He said that when he was in HS, there was a class called Firearm Appreciation where the teacher would teach you about various types of guns, their history, how to clean them and you'd take field trips to firing ranges to learn how to shoot and chit like that, and this was in Northern California in the Late 70's.

Thing is, corporal punishment was deemed inappropriate because it was said induced violence. Well we got rid of it in favor of psychology and violence increase to mass killing.
Our schools are run like jails our teachers have been nurtured and micromanaged by administrators and the violence in schools have increased 10 fold. When will we admit it doesn't work?

Young men feeling hopeless, feeling like they don't have a place in society, feeling like they are expendable, being outcasts from the tribe because they're different in some way and get labeled a weirdo, getting bullied and realizing how sadistic, cruel and evil other people can be. I can imagine there are multiple causes - boys being raised by a single parent, prescription medications, violent video games, being bullied, etc.
What ever the cause we've gone from some kids dreaming of being rid of their antagonizer that cause them pain, to now acting out their dreams and shooting students. Hopefully we can create a system to protect against this violence.

Do they have a particular issue, or beef with the system? Of do they just hate the world and everyone in it? How does someone so young develop into that? How does someone become that homicidal and nobody (especially the family) notice it? How does that happen?
How does a person develop such hatred and little regard for human life? I'm sure there were students in that group that never did anything to them.

I think you hit the nail on the head OP. Dems are always in a hurry to politicize it and make it about guns. The issue goes so much deeper though. Your examination of the issue is mostly the same as mine.
The low hanging fruit is to actually hold the FBI fukking accountable for doing their job.
Edit: I also like the idea of media outlets not publishing the shooter's name. It seems to be really picking up steam the last couple days.
