One more thing... if you are ever in that situation with a pet that's been bitten by one of these things or is being constricted by one, liberally pour alcohol into the snake's face (nose, mouth). It'll make the snake let go. Otherwise, the bastard will hold on tight and be difficult to get off. Vodka or something like that, or even rubbing alcohol. Rubbing alcohol would be more toxic, but I'm in the "kill all snakes on sight" crew, so that wouldn't bother me at all.

brb let a raccoon who tries killing my chickens run free because he knows better than to come back the next night??? If they don't kill the snake that could be their family/friend ambushed and killed the next day. That's a 20 foot killing machine not a honey bee, they don't get the ecosystem pass.
