I watched it just yesterday and had some mixed feelings. The town design and some of the action scenes were quite great.

Johannson's acting was pretty lame though. She mostly stood there pouting through the whole movie. (Not really her fault, when there is not much else to to in the script) Using so much CGI on the main "villain" was a stupid idea as well. His presence made me cringe and I never could sustain disbelief.

Came in to post this but I'm big fan of the Robin Hood stories anyway even the one with Kevin Costner.

Gattaca flopped? Very well regarded now I think.

Moon, critics loved it but think that had more to do with Bowies son directing it. It was pretty low budget under the radar so I don't think it flopped particularly

No idea about Prometheus, didn't grab me enough to keep watching, may give it another go but I've been kind of put off.

John Carter for sure. I wouldn't call it a masterpiece by any means, but I was shocked when I later heard it lost like $100m. I genuinely enjoyed it.
I call it "Celebration". It's sexual, and violent...

Every little known 80s cop/crime/noir movies. Few of these made much real bank, however they are all enjoyable to watch - chilled, laid back and dark.

Watched it the other day and was surprised how underrated it was. Easily 7/10 in terms of entertainment.

If you like Gladiator, Spartacus etc. (and I know you do), you should like this movie as well

The 5th Element. I love that movie. Bruce Willis and Chris Tucker.

Waterworld with Kevin Costner is not that bad but it got destroyed by critics as the biggest waste of money of all time.

Yeah that is another good one. Watching that in a dark room with surround sound is about as intense of a movie experience as you can get.
