It can be easy to group in all the big name EDM artists together, but he was truly unique and had so many top quality songs spanning through so many years and genres! I almost forgot about all the awesome electro house songs he was making around 2009/2010 and many of you brahs may have not even been aware these were Avicii songs!

Usual ignorance about depression. Imagine being so continuously tormented by how bad you feel you actually go through with killing yourself to get away from it, almost no other condition does that to people. Few people really get over serious depression.

I am sure I am not alone in this and really hope along with the others that we can eventually go back to enjoying them as just good music and be able to separate those feelings from the tragic story :/

Very weird.

If he stopped partying/touring, how did he just suddenly die two years later?

Sounds like the damage he inflicted upon himself was done and it was only a matter of time. Hearing about things like this makes me glad to not be a regular alcoholic.

feels were hit when the news came

you have to imagine being an introverted guy that just wants to make music and then blowing up and because you are a famous DJ everybody assumes you have an extroverted personality

it just took too much of him and the drinking helpt with the anxiety

the lac of respect some Miscers show doesn't surprise me really, I've always been into electronic music and the creaters of this genre are always looked down upon since "they don't play a "real" instrument" or "they don't even sing" while in reality they are just as much musicians

and Avicii was a very gifted musician for sure

RIP

Sounds like he ruint his pancreas. Without it you suffer a lot of pain and health issues. You can't digest food properly and have constant diarrhea. Plus he might never have given up the bottle.

That was a huge loss and also shocking. This one in particular is hard to swallow because he was in his prime right now career wise and continuing to rise everyday. If this was early 2000's while Linkin Park was absolutely huge and the same thing happened to Chester, I'm sure the reaction would be pretty similar to this.

Nah, people die everyday. Guy made cool music which hit the right spots but in the end it was all related to alcohol so comes down to yet another "celebrity that went too far" death. "Took a pill in Ibiza" gonna get referenced a lot for a few days tho

He was introvert who got into business where you are expected to be anything but introvert. Coped hard probably. He produced good music, many of them known hits and it's always sad to see somebody die so soon.

If he did it to himself I don’t think really feel bad. It’s like someone who wrapped their car around a tree at 100+, not everyone makes the right choices in life and sometimes people bring their deaths upon them. It’s not very tragic imo.

I was unfortunately a witness to a fatal accident recently where two young children were run over and killed in their strollers with their mothers pushing them in a cross walk, this was the heaviest any death has ever hit me in the feels.

i knew a guy who killed himself in a single night of drinking - and yet heavy drinkers will many times talk completely down to people who like a little green and call them 'drug addicts'

Survival. When the jungle tears itself down and builds itself into something new. Guys like you and me, we end up dead. Doesn’t really mean anything. Or, if we happen to live through it, well that doesn’t mean anything either.
