I think 3 days is enough as long as you do a good amount of lifts for each body part and don't half ass it

I love lifting so I go 6x per week doing a Push(+quads) Pull(+hamstrings) routine which allows to hit each muscle after 48h of recovery.

Depends on volume and intensity. Training 7 days a week is no problem if volume and intensity is properly tailored.

The problem arises when people start doing 20-30 sets to failure every day. You can have 2 out of the 3 ime if natty.

Do what works for you. I just bench everyday, maybe throw in some curls.

Everyone’s hating on OP but I’ve been lifting for 10 years, can bench almost twice my body weight, & I’ve ultimately gotten the best results doing a routine similar to him. When I go, I go hard & for a little over an hour & my body seems to NEED a week to recover.

You want me to tell you why you are losing gains when lifting 5-6x a week?

You don't eat enough.

Problem solved.

But seriously, you're not necessarily wrong OP. 4-5 days seems better IMO.

I try to do 3-4 weight sessions a week and 3-4 cardio sessions a week. 4 is usually the sweet spot.

I lift 6-7x a week and agree with OP tbh. I just love being in the gym and have nothing else to do with my time lol. I try and moderate my volume/intensity and take regular deloads/active recovery days now.

training hard and heavy everyday is pretty taxing after a while. I took 4-5 days off (after going HAM pretty much everyday for months and months) and when I got back in the gym I was the strongest and biggest I had been in ages.

look up over reaching and super compensation.

Wrong OP. I've been working on every day and sometimes even twice a day and I'm gaining more than I ever gained before. I just make sure to get at least 8 hours of good sleep.

I had great success with both of those, while my success wasn't as good with 5-6 days in terms of strength. If you are looking to be fit and look good, more days would be more beneficial. Undulating periodization would be a great tool.

It's not black and white like that. That type of thinking is more of a negative than a positive.
lol @ "body type"

Exactly

Unless you are old age and takes you many days to recover, 7 days a week is fine as long as you get sleep and proper diet.

When Hollywood actors get jacked for a movie they train almost every day. Its going to be hard to put significant gains with only 3 workouts per week. That is incredibly low.

I worked out body parts once a week for years, and I have no gainz. Some body parts did okay like my legs.
I decided to do some body parts twice/week and noticed gains in the last 5 months that I never had in 5 years! So effing upset at myself and all my lost time.

Same with me. I tried working out only 3 days a week. I just get skinnyfat.

Now that I'm working out daily and sometimes squeezing in legs on the same day I am getting jacked

Disagree entirely. If you get burned out and you don't put forth full effort when lifting every day then lifting less may be beneficial if your intensity increases.

But if you can keep your intensity the same, lifting more will always give me a better physique. 6 days a week on a bro split is when I look the best.

That being said, 3 or 4 days a week is still a happy medium and a better balanced life.

if u been at it for a few years and eat/sleep enough 72 hours is more than enough for muscle to recover

Finally someone said it.

Lol guys calm down. Everyone's body is different. I'm a natty and I'm also ceo 10k/day so I work long hours. Still go to the gym ~4 days per week. Sometimes it's 5, sometimes 3.

As a natty all my life Im not really going to put on any noticeable size, let's be reality. Giving my body and joints enough time to recover allows me to go at it 100% in the gym. I enjoy lifting, maintaining my size, and currently I'm leaning out pretty nicely.

Do what works for you. Your body will let you know.

Nothing wrong with lifting more days, as long as you reduce volume to compensate
