How is this a problem for Indians? Don't they have arranged marriages anyway? Even if the girl is ugly, at least they'll get a girl.

It is unfortunate for china though. A lot of them are just content with being gay. The smart ones get a VISA and go to school in the US where there are a larger number of asian chicks to choose from...which is still tough since the current trend for asian girls is to hook up with white guys.

The other option is to prohibit abortions in the case of a female child. If you can't prohibit abortions, prohibit amnio testing that allow it to happen. This is how they got there in the first place. One child policy does not have an impact on gender balance without it.

The Chinese numbers don't reflect the reality on the ground. This is what my Chinese friend told me. The ratio in China is even and actually slightly favors women. Majority of Chinese when they have a daughter; they don't report it compared to a son. A lot of daughters and second child in China aren't reported hence the inflated numbers of men in China. This makes sense, as majority of international students in the West seem to favour the females more so than the Men.
