Trailers have gone up in the past ten years or so. My parents bought a double wide for their lake in 2007 or 08 for around $30,000, now they are like 60 or 70k for a thirty year old trailer. Even holiday trailers seem to really hold their value.

I love manufactured homes, they are great rentals.

BRB pay $20k for a manu and rent it out for $700-800 a month to a long term tenant. Yes please.

that's because the wages haven't kept up with inflation and owning a home is more expensive than ever. What's next in line is renting an apartment but the new ones being built are not standard/middle class but luxury, upscale condo-types to reel rich people in what used to be chitty parts of the city or downtown. The middle class or poor people originated in those cities/downtown can't move in and are forced to go somewhere else

What's after upscale/upper-class apartments are these trailers because they have been around for a while and no one bought/rent them because they do not want to seem like total losers, poor people, etc. But with a growing cost of living, there aren't many options to choose from when poor people are barely making $20k a year

No, just for the last two years. Shifting between real estate/rentals/stock has always been my strategy. Right now swing trading is bringing in waaaaaay more that whatever poverty return managing trailers could but that's temporary. Unfortunately, when the rental market collapses again it will probably be close to lock step with the stock market and the delta will still be the same.

The lack quality of materials, actual foundation and they're generally are not safe. In Florida, the majority of hurricane damage is always beachfront first(due to the nature of direct, full wind speed hit and trailer parks.

I know it's not so much a big deal in Canada for Hurricanes, but this is the reason why trailers near coastal states are bad idea.

Even worse near tornado alley. A tornado butt ****s trailers with impunity.

If it makes you happy, carry on, tis all that matters.

It's like, dating a stripper is a great financial investment so let's all marry them since they bring home 1k a night okay? That's my issue with the trailers for personal use. You can make the argument for renting or being a slumlord, I am not denying that. I love money so I like hearing about it. In the mean time, my personal being is not subject to the same sacrifice as my portfolio as that defeats the point of wealth. I don't live for my portfolio, it works for me.
