If you're a KID, which you are, you need to really work this out with an ADULT before you do something stupid to yourself. Yes I broke my jaw and had to have surgery on it. I was young at the time as well so the meds they gave me were something made specific for smaller bodied children. I don't remember a lot of pain, just itchiness if that makes sense. I also swelled pretty badly and at different times had clots come out that would make me throw up and tear stitches. It was honestly not the worst thing I've gone through. Uncomfortable but the meds help, sleep helps, and you'll be happy with the results.

I have TERRIBLE TMJ that is crazy painful every day and was recommended this surgery because bones have fully devloped and my bite is jacked. I have been putting it off for YEARS because it's no joke! You said you've watched the videos on youtube following people, why on earth would you do this if there is no pain, and the misalignment cant even be seen?!?!!? The recovery for this will probably be the worst thing that you have gone through in your life from what Ive watched and researched. It can take MONTHS for the swelling to go down and the numbness to go away, if it ever does. Even worse is the people whos faces change for the worse, I can imagine that destroying your life and confidence forever.

You really, really sound like a young, very naive person to push forward with this for such an overall minimal issue and ZERO pain right now. Personally, I think you're an idiot if you do this for cosmetic reasons and dont currently look like Shrek, you WILL regret getting this surgery. Just my $0.02

NopeI have an incorrect bite too and it causes me bruxism which eventually will lead to dental fractures and losing them. If I do not correct my bite, my gums will suffer, sooner or later.

I don't think you can perform a surgery like this for cosmetic reasons, it has implications because it corrects your bite and you will look more aesthetic, your cheekbones move too and you have a better face shape, but it's not because I feel ugly or anything.

UPDATE : 11.07.2018

Yesterday I went to my surgeon's office where I got a check by an orthodontist, she made 2 more prints for both of my jaws. Had no time to make pictures of the prints, but made a picture of the dental cast, I got it because she wanted to measure the first contact my teeth make, she said this is important to measure correctly because of my cross-bite. I made a picture with this one.

After this cast, I made pictures, lots of them, both profiles, front and both 45 degrees. I had to stay with my mouth closed/ lips soft but open/ friendly smile/ smile with all of your teeth/ laugh with all of your teeth(mouth largely open)

After this, I made 2 X-rays at their office and were sent to a bigger radiology center where I had 2 more X rays, both arcades and a panoramic screening, basically they scanned with a device my teeth and on the big screen I could see pieces adding like in a puzzle and after scanning both arcades, I could see them how they move too.

The total costs of those are around 250 euros. I'll add my payments too because at the end, I'll sum up pre-op costs and the cost of the surgery.





Sorry, it moved, I was in the car on my way to radiology, poverty nails too, can't wait till I get my french nails back, doctor asked for short nails after the surgery too, washing my teeth will be problematic.


UPDATE: 12/07/2018

I was sent to make this entire list of blood work and and EKG + X-rays for my cardio+lungs, I did the blood work today. Will meet my surgeon tonight, probably. I feel weak and dizzy, they got 5 mini containers with my blood but used only 1 needle called a butterfly, the nurse pressed on my vein and the blood flow through a tube and when she clicked in the container, blood was getting inside, when she clicked out, blood would stop.


Those were 75 euros without the EKG and X-rays, will have to ask my surgeon where to get them done. I'm sleepy and a bit tired, but good they are done now. Will continue to update, losers fuk off of my thread, I want people to get an insight about what they need to do before and after and the costs, I don't care if you believe this is a troll post or nah, write your bs in another thread please. What are your plans during recovery? Do you have support to help take care of you? You'll obviously need assistance with a lot judging by the recovery stories.
