I watched YoutTubes criticizing it to see why it’s so bad, basically the director is an idiot

The whole storyline was a sidequest.

Spoiler!
Theentiremovie is spent with The Empire 2.0 chasing the rebels just out of laser range or something waiting for the rebels to run out of fuel. So then the main guys go on some stupid mission to find a master codebreaker so they can jump to lightspeed without being tracked. They end up finding him but IMMEDIATELY get thrown in space jail where their cellmate is some random fuking guy who is just as good of a "codebreaker" and gets them out of jail.

He eventually sells them out to the Empire 2.0 and they NEVER BREAK THE CODE ALLOWING THEM TO ESCAPE THE TRACKING. A majority of the entire movie is dedicated to apointlessplotline
And relief washes over me in an awesome wave

The first half wasn't bad. Once Leia did her Superman 4 act in space, it all just fell to pieces.
Still plenty of superhero reboots that are far worse than Last Jedi.

i'm very intelligent and cultured so i only see **** i know will be good. only time i get caught seeing something i don't like is if it's by a director that i've liked previous work by and their new movie is **** (which doesn't happen often) or the reviews are completely misleading.

stuff like 3 billboards or baby driver i think are overrated, but still decent movies. something like the sicario sequel i knew well before it was out that i'd have no interest in seeing it, even though the original was one of my favorite movies of this decade.

notable movies i got caught seeing and thought were absolute ****:

elysium- district 9 was really good, so i assumed this would be good as well. turned out to be complete ****.

a quiet place- generic ****. insanely misleading reviews.

did you go in thinking it was a horror movie? always love when people go into an A24 movie thinking it's something else.

Lol I knew everyone would say the last jedi. It's like the prequels all over again.

It wasn't that good, but it has to be better than ghostbusters

Last Jedi tricked us. People actually ponied up money to see it. Debatable if it was better than Ghostbusters but expectations were obviously WAY higher so a much bigger disappointment.

I don't know a single person who paid to see Ghostbusters.

The prequels at least had it's moments and memorable good/bad characters, new trilogy is a forgettable bag of chit so far.

this FILM is the barometer for telling if you have good taste, or if you're uncultured swine.

Watched Jupiter Ascending the other night. Worse than anything I saw on the first page of this thread. Redmayne couldn't even pull it out of the chitter.

1. Prequils was good. 2 was worst, and while they all had their flaws they still added show cool chit/moments to star wars that made them good for me. (Lol are Teddy bears with Spears. The old ones had their flaws too, even the first two, but it was the universe that was created that made SW great.

2. TLJ was better than Jumanji too, but come on, those don't count. A remake of an extremely popular movie 30 years ago is a recipe for a disaster.... Why? Nevermind the obvious agenda it had, only SJWs and feminists were excited about Ghostbusters. Everyone else I talked to said the previews/whole concept looked AWFUL (it was)
