If you're saying 50 shark deaths per year is a good enough reason to kill millions of sharks then you need to check yourself in a mental asylum ASAP.
You're entirely missing the point, spastic

I initially asked why people would care about a dead behind the eyes, soulless fkin shark.

Your reply was that people are more likely to get hit with lightning, I showed why it was the case that more people get hit by lightning than get bit by sharks. Making your point redundant, and not making sharks any less monstrous. If sharks had equal amount of chances of biting people, as lightning does of hitting people... then shark bites would outnumber the amount of people hit by lightning by a landslide.

Regardless of that, that wasn't even my point...

I didn't use any logic of saying that sharks killing X people per year is reason enough to kill millions of them... I literally could not care about the well being of sharks, period.

I simply said Fuk sharks.

You care about the well being of sharks for some reason... and don't give me some "bbbut the eco system of the sea", your argument has nothing to do with the eco system and is entirely based on your feelings for sharks.

I don't care about the well being of sharks. Fuk sharks. You're probably the kinda kunt that says stuff like "I prefer animals over people", probably have a fkin man bun and go to starbucks

IDGAF about people that eat it. I was just stating how can only the fins be worth money. They take just the fins and leave the shark to die. Why cant they just harvest the whole thing.

Yes i love steak but im not going out stabbing a cow, cutting out a good tomahawk steak and leaving the cow to dye on its own am I?

Consumption reduced by 50–70% in China between 2011 and 2013.[2] Imitation shark fin soup has become a popular alternative, which uses substitutes to replicate the fins' chewy, gelatinous texture.

Nah, urine idiot.

Shark consumption in Europe means the USE of the entire shark. In China, they cut of the fins in a desperate measure to increase the usefulness of their token little wangs and throw 97% of it away.

It's the equivalent of killing a cow just to eat the ears and then leaving the rest to rot.

Judging by your inability to recognize even that simplest concept, you are probably part of the large majority of asians who don't give one single fukk as to how their actions effect the rest of the people around them.

Burning dogs alive, yes 100% micropenis.

They feel powerful knowing thy can torture another living creature who can feel pain. Sickening.

I don’t agree with eating dogs, but I can at least not get infuriated if they would humanely kill them before eating. Sht I don’t even agree with boiling lobster.

Sick of this class warfare identity politics ****.

There are probably 200 billion sharks in the oceans and still reproducing.

This is called the tragedy of the commons. The only way around it, is to literally have nations or private owners to own parts of the ocean.

Western Hemisphere: Kill 1 shark. Get 100 lbs of meat for consumption.

Asians: Kill 50 sharks. Get 50 lbs of fins for consumption.

They've already convinced asians to stop finning sharks. Now they have to import them from European countries

http://www.stopsharkfinning.net/tag/sharks-spain/

Millions upon millions of sharks are being killed in the Atlantic by European fishing vessels, with just one country – Spain – accounting for a massive 57% of reported landings. Other countries involved in the overfishing of Atlantic and Mediterranean sharks include Portugal, France and the United Kingdom. Despite the shocking number of sharks being killed it is believed that the actual number is likely to be three or four times greater than official figures suggest, due to many sharks being discarded in the ocean as unwanted catch (or bycatch). It is estimated that between 2002 and 2012 EU nations accounted for over 40% of global shark catch.

I was replying to someone who thinks greatest consumption assumes greatest killing which is inaccurate.

Your data is also reported data from those countries and specific to the Atlantic and Mediterranean. You think people that are catching sharks, cutting their fins off, and tossing them back in the ocean to die are reporting them?

I've had people buy me shark fin soup before. The taste difference between real shark fin soup and the imitation versions are negligible. And it doesn't taste like anything special in the first place.

Anyways, a few sharks getting killed every now and then isn't a problem. The problem is the mass unsustainable killing of sharks, which are usually apex predators, in turn leading to a collapse of the ecosystems in the world's oceans. They can't be compared to domesticated prey animals like cattle.

You realize that sharks are not one species, any more than we're the same species as a spider monkey. Some species are doing fine. Some species are endangered. Unfortunately it's the bigger sharks, which also have the biggest impact on their ecosystems, that are usually targeted.
