lol @ that SJW post saying "It's fiction it can be whatever it has to be, female bond whatever". Yeah because even in fiction there is this thing called consistent lore, plot, an actual factual arrangement of a separate world that the creator intended. Imagine if they just randomly decided to make Luke Skywalker a Wookie and Darth Vader a female? Well who knows with Disney but that's another story. Are these people that far into their PC coma they don't realize a popular fictional environment still has to be honored? It's not a free-for-all, otherwise an unstable fictional world makes telling a story pointless. Going back and chopping up already established roles and plots, you might as well just make a different world and start from scratch.

Once again, politics where there didn't need to be. SJWs always out there looking to destabilize and back-pat themselves. James Bond is a white male agent--it's been clued many, many times in the books--it's really that simple. Make another agent or another franchise. I have no doubt this guy would make a great secret agent but you have to respect the actual established content or else why do you deserve any loyalty or fan base? If you want consistency and for your world/story to be taken seriously then stick to the facts within that fictional world. There's plenty of fitting candidates for the next Bond, but instead we just get a political platform.

He is my pick, for sure. I usually like for actors to look similar to the characters they portray, but I'm making an exception here. There are no other candidates, outside of Henry Cavill, that I would consider even close. Fassbender would be "ok" but muchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh prefer Idris. I think he would crush it as bond.

I do not remotely understand the Tom Hardy picks. Dude has like rugged, harder, more edgy type of demeanor. He is not Bond, like at all. Great actor, but Bond is not a good fit for him, IMO.

Honestly though I like Craig as Bond even though he doens't fit the traditional mold.

I'm usually one of the first people shaking my head at "diversifying" classically white male roles with minorities/women, but I actually like this one. Probably because he's actually a great fit and a very good actor and earns the role on merit, while 95% of these diversified roles don't fit and are clearly just affirmative action for the sake of diversity, which isbad. And it still baffles me that people don't understand that it is bad.

I would support Idris Elba as Bond though

I agree.

Ian Fleming based the character off himself and Hoagy Carmichael. The father of James Bond is Scottish, and his mother is Swiss.

There is already solidified backstory. Will not watch if they have anyone other than a white male play the role.

Theres gotta be better than hardy and some of the suggestions.

Ive seen idris a few times but dont remember. I sort of get the stoicness but isnt he also a bit rough? Think he fits everything but the suave part

Suave doesnt mean cool it means sophisticated/ elegant

In any case, i prob need to watch more of idris, but i still think there is better out there

I like Elba but I can't support this crazed racebaiting/SJW/soyboy/LGBTQRX agenda rampaging the world right now. Every other article on yahoo and other media sites is racebaiting/sjw/soyboy/lgbtqrx crap. I see zero proof that this isn't another instance of it. I mean it's Bond ... how the hell is the role supposed to be anything but a white british dude?

Even more interesting is... you know nobody would ever give a Native/Indian/Arab/Asian Bond .00001 seconds of thought.

I think Hardy or Fassbender would both play the role real well. Both are top notch actors that I haven't seen butcher a role yet.

Why do all these movies even need to be remade with new actors?

I love Idris Elba and would love to see him in a badass bond style film. Why not just make him a new agent with a different number like 008, 009 or something.

Stop replacing every remotely white character with a black person. Idris is a great actor and deserves better than a dumb pander job. Give him his own series or let him take over for a book with an actual black guy.

Christ... some of you would be awful casting directors; Idris Elba would be bloody awful as Bond.

Despite being bald, I think Mark Strong would be a great fit.

Fassbender's a good shout too.
