Hit a little PR of 145x10 on strict press. Nothing in comparison to some of the freaks in this thread, but satisfying nonetheless. Especially on a day where it’s cold and rainy, and I didn’t even feel like lifting.

I haven't done OHP seriously in about 6+ months so tonight was the first time I tried doing OHP in a long while. Got 135x3 relatively strict. Any big OHPers in here want to critique and give me advice?

Most I've ever got was 135x8 back when I did do OHP.

Spoiler!

Finally cracked 160 lbs, haven't been up this high in a while since before cutting for that one show a few months ago. Mediums aren't fitting anymore. Larges are beginning to look ok. Abs are fading. Goal is to sustain this bulk until March - probably like 175ish

well my ohp is ok but the way you unrack the bar is fuked up. kinda unrack it like a squat if that makes sense. get tight and brace like a squat. and squeeze them glutes too. i'll try an upload a vid of my session today

and how are mediums not fitting? i can still fit in mine lol. i fill them out but they still fit.

Ya, gotta work on the mobility to be able to unrack it like that. My bracing is ass and it feels like I'm about to get penetrated up the anoos straight up my back, nomsaiyan? (no homo)

and idk man, I was wearing a medium in that video and it might not look like it but it's hugging my arms. Wearing another medium rn and its pretty tight. Either that or it's due to me wearing a lot of oversized stuff lately that warped my perception

here's a vid from today that shows my whole set up. haven't ohp'd in a while either so it felt weird but i still got a decent amount of reps. i usually don't belt up if it's more than 5 reps but i just wore it so i can remember to brace. still haven't found the groove i used to have so my form isn't as good

but i fill out my medium shirt and i look pretty juicy in it.

damn, looks way more stable than mine

do you not feel like a little shaking towards the lower back/lats as you're pushing the bar up? i hate that feeling as i'm pushing near midway but as long as i get past that little shake i'll usually lock out

how do you program your OHP in relation to your bench? so far i have an idea to switch between ohp/bench focus on my 2 push sessions

kinda? im not too sure what you mean by shaking though. maybe it has to do with you not getting tight enough when your press/unrack

and i honestly haven't done anything serious for ohp in the past 3 months. it was only done as an accessory after squats/bench once a week and i would only do like 115 for 6 with alot left in the tank or i'd do db ohp cuz i was too lazy.
ex of program
Spoiler!

but when i was actually focusing on ohp i'd do what you were doing where i'd switch days. ex:Mon BB Bench, DB OHP or some variation of ohp, Thursday: OHP, DB incline or something similar. pretty sure i did like 3x5. then i basically used linear progression til i couldn't anymore. then for like a few months i'd only focus on ohp and not do any heavy barbell bench. i basically did a DUP kinda thing and hit a BW ohp.

Mine weren't exactly lifting. Two vids are about escaping from failed bench. I shot those vids when I was 48 years old, over ten years ago.

My bench 1RM is 265 lbs(120kg). So I can't lift those weight in the vids which was up to 308lb(140kg). They are just demonstrations for my friends who also train at home gym alone without any power rack.

I train home at home and I love single rep. I don't have a power rack or safety guard for my ceiling is low and room is cramped. I've been doing this long time, more than 35 years. I uploaded here for fun. So pray don't be offended.

Almost 60, still lifting but rather doing this more often these days.

Just enough man for me

Most people cannot properly press anything over their heads so 60's is good at your weight
