Milk is trash. Most fruit isn't keto, only the lower sugar ones. Gluconeogenesis is all you need for the smattering of glucose your brain does need for fuel that ketones don't cover.

Answering above question about sugar natural vs nature:

Fruits and other sources of natural sugar have nutrients and fiber and other things which blunt the insulin spike or at least offer some nutrients along side it. Meanwhile, natural sugar is processed and refined, none of the nutrients remain, just the nutrient lacking sugar. High fructose corn syrup is even worse, spikes insulin even more than sugar, like concentrated diabetes. It's also found in basically everything you buy at the grocery store processed.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

It’s really a whole bunch of bullchit and people need to stop applying blanket meme diets to all types of foods and just be smart and reasonable about what they eat.

Sucrose is sucrose, glucose is glucose etc... eating fruits is good cuz fiber and micronutrients but for the purpose of cutting out sugars white table sugar and fruits are doing the same thing.

The whole idea of avoiding overly processed foods is great in theory the same way going gluten free is, because it typically causes people to eat an overall better diet. But guess what they could still pull it off without going full retard and would probably have a better chance of maintaining it as a lifestyle instead of a temporary diet.

These fad blanket diets are bullchit because they ignore food that breaks the rules or sits outside their realm of “being right” on what’s healthy for you. There are tons of manipulations or processes that create food which is healthier and has more bioavalable nutrients.

Black and white diets are fukking cancer and while it works for some people, they could have had other options but now they preach their hipster fad diet as gospel because it worked, guess what ******* tons of other chit coulda worked too.

i think people just go from one extreme to another, just eat your fruits and veggies, hit your macros/macros, eat your meat and fish, enjoy some ice cream and donuts from time to time and be happy. do whatever helps you live a healthier lifestyle even if that means following keto, paleo or w/e. just don't claim broscience rationale. yeah certain processed food probably isn't the greatest but people take it too far for sure.

For instance, humans have been eating grain since the dawn of civilization, and modern paleolithic people (e.g., Amazonian tribes) prove that many pre-modern humans eat a large amount of starch. It's silly to eliminate potatoes and grains, for instance, unless you determine that you personally actually have a problem with these foods.
Exactly, like many prior have stated, these "diets" work well for your average Joe in the western world. Being that Keto, carnivore and paleo restrict many of the foods that most in this day have sensitivities to, its obvious why they feel better eating this way. Most people on this forum take someone giving positive feedback about a certain way they are eating as a claim for an all out fix or nutrition prescription for everyone. If someone states they're having good results personally with "keto" or "carnivore" what have you...they're automatically deemed as some sort of gullible idiot that has fallen victim to mainstream media, or social influence. I'm not an advocate for any of these. Nothing wrong with a person experimenting for themselves and using said diets as a baseline for elimination.

I suppose, if you want to be the healthiest you can you should follow the diets and lifestyles of the Okinawans, etc.

As for Paleo or "ancestral eating" 1) there was nothing else to eat and 2) and two, we don't live our lives even close to how they did. If you want to eat Paleo, then I suggest you go run around for 10-15 days hunting eating nothing but berries, leaves etc and then eating a crap ton of meat before it gets rotten.

We can't eat wild potatoes

It's the plant and green potatoes that are toxic.

Yeh the toxins are far more concentrated in the plant itself than the tubers, but even normal (not green) store-bought potatoes nowadays contain small amounts of solanine and are screened by producers to ensure levels are within established food safety limits

That would be the Paleo argument anyways, knowing that nightshade avoidance is one of the Paleo commandments

uhh the question is why would i want to emulate some weakcell caveman that died at age 30 relying on a diet of the lowest common denominator for survival long enough to procreate instead of taking advantage of thousands of years of nutritional evolution. brb instead of taking medicine just rubbing dirt in wounds.

the issue is more so the fact that people (not all but some) that take the path of one of those diets...seem to think they can just load up on saturated fats...because it's easily accessible in modern society. If you want to take it to a "found in nature" argument....our anncestors did NOT have as easy/or as big of an abundance of saturated fat sources avilable to them. Yes they ate foods found in nature...killed animals etc but it was consumed way more sparingly than what people are doing today with these diets.

Plus theres the example of the Inuits....well known that their diets are extremely high in saturated fats....they're fat, and they die young. Go figure.

Cave men were the highest test and strongest men in civilization.
Eating meat and no gluten everyday and fasting 18 hours feels aamzing man.

What he meant to say is that that meal looks small and hopefully its meal 1of6 for the day.

Thats the problem with paleo/keto diets is that while they're easy to stick to because everything on the menu is delicious, it gets expensive really fast getting the vast majority of calories from meat.

Tried keto once. Hell, not even keto, just very low carb. I was in best shape of my life physique-wise but felt tired all the time, lifts went to ****, was flat as fk and wanted to stab people cause mood was at an all time low. I can live with sacrificing some LBM in favor of carbs. It's all about bloatmaxx anyway these days
