Real question you should ask - why get married at all?

I dunno, I wouldn't feel comfortable with a woman asking that of me. Thinking she needs it, but I'm sure it could be argued I am taking it too far. Just me personally, I left women like that, could always find another who I didn't feel the pressure from but to each their own with that, obviously I don't know the inner workings of your relationship.
if I broke up with girls when they brought up marriage I'd be breaking up with every girl in a couple of months. dating is such a PITA. I hate it. same convo, same bars, same basic broads every time. it gets old fast.

this broad has her flaws and some aren't small. but aside from crying about getting married it's about the best situation I've ever had myself in. if she gives me a good reason to split like stealing, lying or cheating I'll go. otherwise I'll just ride this out for the time being.

Pre-nups by young people are pretty much moot, since you have nothing and build things together + have kids potentially, so everything changes as the marriage progresses.

Pre-nups are essential for older people with existing assets and kids. Divide and conquer is much simpler then and easier to uphold in a court of law.
"The manlet is a savage beast that knows no moral bound. After falling in disgrace to a manmore, a ravaged manlet would not hesitate to come from behind and land a sucker punch/ swing with a rock to the back of a manmore's head. They are ruthless and you need to spend some more time in the gutter to even begin trying to comprehend what goes on in their minds."

He exploded and they fought and she scratched him. They didn’t talk for weeks until he decided to tell her it was his fault and that he would stop drinking. (Lmao) so they didn’t get a divorce but she cane close to divorcing him for something that was her fault for angering him... needless to say.. she has a choke collar placed firmly around his testicles now
Marriage doesn't sound to be the problem here... Lol.

Eh some marriage are terrible even if the couple get married after 10 years of dating. Some are good after 1 year of dating. I think a bigger factor is physically living together and making decisions together before 'getting married'.

Can never be happy without a degree of 'settling down' when it comes to women. I think there are many ways to look at it, but anything exclusive is on the 'settling' spectrum.

I agree with a lot of what you say ITT but the fact of the matter is, if 2 people are -in-compatible, slapping a 'married' title on them doesn't change jack. If both had no assets before marriage and both were actively making money (relatively close in income), then nobody is royally getting screwed. Do you have sympathy for wealthy men with no social skills, that marry a gold digging wh0re for companionship/sex, and then she gets bored a few years later and takes millions off him?

Don't live your life in fear and paranoia, you miss out on great stuff -- I have. I used to think there was literally no value in marriage over LTR - technically there doesn't have to be, but in reality there is for most people as long as they truly value marriage and what it entails (i.e. it's for the children).

Your position sounds pretty similar to what mine was a few years ago, very protective and defensive. Not a bad way to be, but you can overdo it.
Taxes benefits, health insurance benefits, Social security, estate inheritance tax, naturalization, etc.

We tend to focus on the negatives on the misc but marriage isn't terrible. I'd say the worst part of it is not freely being able to bang random women.

as far as
Don't live your life in fear and paranoia, you miss out on great stuff
^ That can be applied to almost everything in life and it's pretty good advice. There's no point being afraid from an LTR/Marriage, if you plan accordingly and make good choices along the way (who you marry, assets, separate bank account -yes i know that can be debated since courts can screw you over there, too- etc.)

this is why i only have divorced friends, it reduces the likelihood that i myself will get divorced, owing to statistical mean regression.

WTF would a prenup even do if you were married young with no assets as many people are. Doesn't a prenup potentially protect pre-martial assets? They would still have to split anything earned after being married.

you are correct.

so many miscers and young men in general have delusional ideas about what a prenup is lol.

if you're 21 making $35k a year with no assets and barely a pot to piss in, getting a prenup before marriage won't do chit for you.

prenups are for people entering marriage with significant assets of THEIR OWN ALREADY. and even then they often get ignored or thrown out in our chit legal system.

no point in getting a prenup to protect your 2003 honda civic, flat screen television and bank account with $1200 in it lol

for guys saying don't get married: even being in a long term bf/gf relationship with a woman can sometimes become a legal headache, depending on the situation.

I would say if you don't have chit in life you shouldn't be getting married yet, but that aside, a prenup allows you to designate that during the progression of the marriage acquired joint assets are shared marital assets while assets within one individual's name solely to be their asset in a situation of the marriage being dissolved.

Every marriage is a threesome: you, her, and Uncle Sam. The early years, you barely know Sam is there. A license for the marriage, and some minor changes at tax time. Other than that, it is pretty easy to forget all about him. Life is good.

But Sam is just being patient. The marriage hits a rough patch after your first kid is born. Fortunately, things get better. You both genuinely enjoy being parents, so a couple years later, you have a second kid. And a second rough patch. Only this time it doesn't get better. You double down, determined to make it work. But eventually your wife announces she wants out. Too late, you realize Uncle Sam is in your house. He has been all along. He drops his pants, and his massive cock -- the $1 billion divorce industry -- rips into your ass.

He tears you apart. All your hopes and plans for the future? Gone. Your ambitions and dreams? Irrelevant. Your careful savings and investments? Sam pillages them without mercy. A decade of sweat and hard work, erased in an instant.

Your wife is long gone, but Uncle Sam still visits. Once a month, he shows up demanding money. Send the checks to the ex, or get ****ed again. Next time he won't be so gentle. "Keep her happy," he warns you. "If she complains too much, I can take your kids, your passport, your career, and even your freedom
