I like wide and narrow neutral grip the most but work conventional wide and reverse narrow in as well.
I really like single arm with supination. You get a nasty stretch at the top and can really pull the elbow in tight at the bottom.

because wide grip works your rear delts too and I can't be ****ed to add in face pulls or rear delt flyes to my workout

That's an extra 40% volume, AND through a longer range of motion.
Keep in mind the biceps are a smaller muscle.
That is one of the dumbest posts I have ever read.
You really don't think new data on exercise science has come out since the 70s!?
Also I guess it's impossible to know about things that aren't in line with your goals. Must mean I don't know what a squat, bench press, or deadlift is because I'm not a powerlifter.

I'm not sure what you're doing if you're not working your rear delts, but it sure isn't pull-ups.

I prefer chin-ups to pull-ups. If I do do pull-ups, they are with a grip just outside of shoulder width. Wide-grip murders my shoulders, elbow and biceps - must be that lever length of piece.

Same thing at the bottom. Since its just one handle you can pull the elbow down further, almost to the hip. If you supinate while doing this it is easy to pull the elbow right against you body and squeeze.

I've seen good results from wide grip pull-ups but it did take me a while to open up my shoulders and back enough to use everything effectively. Lack of ROM was causing me to mostly use my arms for a long time and I was terrible at them

I get more lat development out of 6 sets of 10 reps with an 'assisted' pull up (pin in 50/60lbs worth of plates) hands wider then shoulders. Then I do with 10 sets of 10 reps on a pullup or chinup with a neutral or shoulder width grip. By your logic doing 4 more sets and all of them unassisted should be more effective at building muscle... But its not.
The problem with the 'exercise science' crowd is none of them are on a stage winning shows left and right. And I'm not aware of any of them that are coaching Mr Olympia competitors either. Maybe offering nutrition guidance but as far as lifting.....
