See what he looks like when the first trailer comes out... but this doesn't look promising.

It looks bad but if you watched the whole thing, it clearly says that it's a costume test. They will 100% add scars, yellow contacts, likely some makeup to make him look more pale etc. Final effect will be nothing like this. At least I hope.

Idk what “when cosplay looks better”. I’m sure cosplay for 95% of characters looks better but that isn’t how they decided to design the characters.

I think you guys are taking this way to seriously.
They are making their own adaption not a carbon copy of the PC games. They are not trying to make him look 100% like that.
Hollywood has always prettied up characters. Blade Runner had a middle aged chubby protagonist, but they cast a young Harrison Ford. Harry Potter has much more unkempt hair in the books and Ron and Hermine were uglier as well. Lord of the Rings changed the main cast a lot, not just in looks, but also in personality. Frodo for example is more of a mature middle-aged patriarch not really a youthful hero. Book Conan didn't look like Arnold at all, more like the Momoa version, and we still love that Arnold. Michael Keaton and George Clooney are both framecels lacking the superhero physiques for Batman. All movie Bond have always been prettier than Book Bond. Marlon Brando in "A streetcar named Desire" is one of the all time great performances, but a less good looking man would have certainely fit the script better.
On the other hand "Solo-A Star Wars Story" failed partially, because they tried to have the main character do his best Harrison Ford imitation, instead of just creating a new fresh Han Solo.
They don't have to slavishly stick to the source material, but instead create their own version of the Witcher. This Cavill is already closer than most adaptions. It's totally okay to change stuff, if they know what they are doing. I will wait to where it leads. The whig looks pretty bad though.

His physical appearance changes over time too.Given the time frame the show is supposed to be set in, this is actually fairly accurate. Geralt in the first game for example had long hair and no facial hair.
Everyone seems to be expecting this show to start with Geralt in the Witcher 3 or towards the end of the final book, and I'm mystified why aside from:

Also, you just need to stand by for when he comes back into a new season with a beard after a major life event a la Captain America, Rick Grimes, etc...
