4% annual withdrawal is the rule of thumb according to Trinity Study. So you only really need $2.5M for $100k annually. 3% to be conservative.

What I was referring to in my earlier post, it's all relative to where and what.

A person can rent a modest apartment in Brooklyn or Queens in a neighborhood that isn't trendy (so that excludes places like Williamsburgh, Greenpoint, Long Island City and Astoria) and commute a bit further to get to Manhattan for work while concurrently not having a car or having a paid off car and cheaper insurance and have basic cable or an antenna to drive costs down as much as they can and they can make $100K work for them in a big way.

But yea, if you want to live in the heart of Manhattan which to me is such a huge turn off (but to others is a dream) and pay for a parking spot for your car on top of the payments (if you're even bold enough to have a car which a lot of people do) and on top of that pay Manhattan prices for groceries and all that, yea, $100K is gonna be stretched pretty thin.

Why would someone who doesn't care about income and only becoming better than they were the day before go on real estate websites to find out how much the rental is?

And why would they take that information and use it as an opener to garner credentials in a post condemning OP for money-bragging?

I think it's fairly clear my intellect and wit is well beyond yours and you can't follow simple logic.
Ffs.. when people have money, and I mean REAL money, it is obvious. They don’t need to be in their house or car for you to know it. I know 3 people reasonably well with well over 8 figure net worth, not a one of them ever talks about what they have, earn, drive, where they went on holiday etc.

That’s what people like awatts, Ashin, testifier, lexbrah, mybaddbrah and anyone else who drivel’s on about earnings and net worth (likely imaginary) will never understand. Wealth, in the realest sense, means knowing the price of nothing and the value of everything.

Broski, my net worth is greater than the TOTAL of my career earnings, GROSS. No handouts, inheritances, non payed back parental loans, and haven’t had to leave civilisation to do it.

When you can claim the same, we’ll compare notes eh?

**despite what I say about wealth whispering, I don’t claim to be wealthy at all, so I’m allowed to talk about money, especially when being called out by Asian manlets living in the arctic circle.

As long as you believe in the lies you tell yourself to help cope boyo.
Sounds like the only person you are finessing is yourself.
Not sure why you are comparing yourself to me, if you are 3 years younger than me, making you 25, it’s still not that impressive as I was 23 and already making 6 figures. Cash is king boyo, having that clout at that early in life has set me opportunity no post secondary would offer and for less the work

That’s not an untypical RE return, especially as it is deliberately under market because I literally don’t feel comfortable charging much more.

Of course, unlike your trailers, it’s an appreciating asset in itself (tripled in value in 18 years, whatever that works out to in an annualised return)..

You sure you want to continue down this road sunshine?

Someday I can hope to see 150k as not a lot of money. Today is not that day. But that's why I keep working and improving myself, and my income potential.

Appreciation plus rental income obviously works out at a well into double digits annualised return. In this context, the word cope means less than nothing to you, me or anyone else reading this thread.

Of course, you have no frame of reference since you don’t have any RE which is insurable or mortgageable, so if I was you I’d call it a day

Ok, can’t say you weren’t warned.

By your own reckoning you’ve earned 6 figures for what, six/seven/eight years? Before I was banned I remember you posting a pay stub for 140k ish for the year? Shall we call it seven times 140k, or a round million CAN$?

So, to compare to me (I’ll do you a favour and completely ignore the non returned parental gift of 50k), your net worth should be at least 1 million CAN$.

Pick a mod, we’ll both provide proof as requested by that mod, and the loser takes a year ban. We on?

not sure where you get this idea I claim to be the best investor. I’m just loling at how ignorant you are of other RE markets. You live in a bubble, sorry to pop it so abruptly.

Sure you know how RE markets work in the UK but you are clueless when you talk about RE in respect to the tundra. You should be banned for spreading misinformation to begin with.
