This wasn't gang related. This was a message to spark intentions. LA was having military drills involving businesses a couple months ago. Possibly to incite a war between gangs. Possibly to shut down the Dr. Sebi documentary.

The motive is not known yet but even if he wasnt an active gang member he was still known for being from this set. This was definitely backed by a higher authority there’s no way you can shoot somebody on Crenshaw and slauson on a Sunday and not get caught or have a suspect. That corner is dam near Marshall law status. Nipsey was doing big things he was a target they probably gave a person who was looking at some serious time an opportunity to get a break and sent him on this mission.

I can't say I've ever listened to much of his music, but it's never nice to hear about someone dying in such a way. But he was a known gang member (perhaps former) so I can't say I'm surprised.

Why is this thread filled with so much misinformation...looked him up for like 20 minutes and already have a pretty clear picture of who the guy is. I've heard of him but didn't realize how influential he was, huge on the West coast.

He is of Eritrean(Horn of Africa) descent from his father's side and African American descent on his mother's side.
Has ties to gang life, but in maturing tried to distance himself from the lifestyle by becoming more entrepreneurial.
Like the Jews and Asians, hoped that investing in his community would bring positive changes to his "hood", did so through creating a clothing store.
Was breaking up a big fight at said clothing store, and was shot.
Released an critically acclaimed album last year, that was nominated for a Grammy.

Yep.

No idea if it had anything to do w his killing but Nippys last tweet he was taunting someone who obviously was no joke. Nippy like 2pac almost seemed to be inviting death.

I dont feel sorry for him. He joined a gang known for killing. He wasn't forced or born into it. He knew the risks.

At least he got rich, lived a pretty cool albeit short life, gave back to the community and was dating Lauren London.

Yup. Also opened a STEM educational/work center in Crenshaw because he wanted young black men to not have to face some of the decisions he did growing up like joining a gang. Wanted to empower inner city youth with educational/work opportunities so they wouldn't have to go down the same path he did.
