Opie you're getting f*cked. But you're also f*cking yourself if you really keep it at 70/65* day night. Your unit/s is running around the clock to maintain those temps, of course your usage is gonna be through the fkn roof.

1850 sq ft here, 76-78 during the day and 71 at night, tons of single pane glass in a 60 year old house in swampass hot Houston, I pay about $100/month with average billing. ($50-60 during winter and up to about $180-200 during summer) I think $60 in a week is the highest usage I've ever seen. Last week with high temps ranging from 88-90 our usage was $37, and we had people over and going in/out on Saturday when it was 90*...

I own a 2400 sqft home in San Diego and my bill averages $110/month. I have gone up to $500 during the summer, but that's running my ac day and night set to 70. I question your bills being that high.

I have a 2800 sq ft home in SoCal and my avg bill is $160/mo. During hotter months (July - Oct), when I run my AC, it's usually over $220/mo. I just put in a 'Whole House Fan' that should be able to cool my house down during those days where the outside temp is cooler than the inside temp early evening. This should cut down on my energy bill since my AC won't have to work as hard.
