You pay for each other within reason. Of course typical societal standards are that the man should pay for everything, but its been shifting. In my relationships I usually cover a lot of the dates, and every so often my gf's would pay for a date or a night out. It eventually got to the point where we'd see who could get their card out the quickest to pay.
