Someone made a post on r/games about the company riot (league of legends devs) and they rather recent controversy about their toxic work environment.
People blamed gamers supporting the company by still playing league of legends and that most gamers dont care about it because they are usually racist/sexist/bigots etc.

Told him how stupid the idea is to stop playing your favourite game you might have thousands of hours in because some people in that company fuked up. My comment got deleted pretty fast.

Only on the misc are people complaining about reddits formatting. No other forum does this. There's also a "night" mode so the background can be black if all the white hurts your eyes.

the appeal to reddit is the fact that there is a specific subsection for literally anything and everything you can think of that you may be interested in. Even things you may not think you even cared about (like the "ELI5" subsection (explain it like i'm 5))

Hell, your own city or town may have its own subreddit and people will be on there making "craigslist offerings" to buy and sell stuff, or may have an explanation for some wreck on the freeway or power ourage or where DUI checkpoints may be (just anything and everything in general).

oh, and there's also an r/s***oids section too. Its basically what bb.coms s***oid section use to be.

15 years ago there were individual forums scattered throughout the internet (bb.com being one of them) for every tiny interest someone may have, but reddit essentially conglomerated any and all interests anyone can ever have and placed them all in one website.

Tbh misc has rules but it's better now under the new admins. We went through a bad period where terrible moderation drove away a lot of traffic that's likely not coming back as message boards become relics of the past

The only reason you see reddit as toxic is because you're going to toxic subsections that are constantly in a volitile state. subreddits like T_D and r/politics have always had nazi level moderators and they can ban user and close threads at their discretion. I stay away from subreddits like that.

Sometimes I'll read reddit as a sort of text-based, human zoo, and it's an eye-opener as to how societally cucked people can be.


It's just a fascinating macrocosm of sheepish, masturbatory behavior that perfectly exemplifies the dangers of groupthink combined with a sort of social credits system that actively promotes one type of viewpoint through upvoting it while downvoting contradictory opinions and discussions to the bottom.

Exploring some of the microcosms of the site rarely results in much deviation from the same type of thinking:

- Criticisms of social justice warriors oranymention of "SJW" is immediately scofffed at and obliterated.

- "OH NO!" Donald Trump elected?!?" -sure, and I'dloveto hear their alternative. He's an easy target because they are almost guaranteed to get zero disagreement no matter how edgy they are on the surface with their comment. In line with the above, I can only imagine that their ideal president would be a transracial women who would force all straight men to wear chains one day out of the week and mandate regular anal probings.

- Self-congratulation bleeding out of their already distended rectums. I dare you to go to a place like r/gaming and not to go from laughing at the expense of people to enduring so much fremdschaden that the cringe is almost painful. We're talking the sort of content that would beslammedwith ridicule somewhere like misc, but there? It could be a drawing that looks like a five year old made with his left hand, filled with adoration and praise. In short, it's built around a participation award mentality versus a slap back into reality, which in turn explains the cretinous gremlins that walk out from from their reddit circlejerk to pollute the real world.


From a larger perspective, though, I frankly do not have much hope for the future of this nation and perhaps the safest bet would be to just hammer out some sort of amicable split; let the far left soylets try living in their own socialist communes, give 90% of their income to their toontown dictators, and watch as they slowly wither away as their unsustainable, blithely naive view of the world crushes them.

That, or we could take that walking amoeba's advice from the original post and deport all of them to their beloved Central/South America - because anyone who knows how to read can point out who the majority of real, albeit mostly self-hating, racists are these days.
