Not sure what the old guy said (or didn't say) but if it was just a matter of refusing a shot of whiskey that's absurd. I'm all for camaraderie while drinking but everyone has the right to reject alcohol, no questions asked IMO.

This is embarrassing on multiple levels. Dude has a wife and kid and he's still always getting into trouble and partying regularly.

Its happened in every single gym I've trained in starting in Taekwando at 5 years old (Im in my 40s and no longer go to the gym). Inevitably big guys show up, want to brawl and use their size. They inevitabley get paired with a scrappy little guy that knows what they are doing and get wrecked....The real question is which gyms are you going to that dont use this technique?

What type of Mcdojo's did you attend? If a guy comes off the street and he's a dick he's either asked to leave, or told to cut it out or else he will be fed to the wolves. Doesn't matter what size they are. They just don't walk in the gym, and are fed to a higher belt. That not only makes the gym look amateurish, it demoralizes the morale of the people training there. People are given many chances to clean up, and when they can't THEN they're taught a lesson, and it's usually not by some "random scrappy guy", but by the head instructor himself. After that there is usually a discussion and the "bully" is given a choice...Either get tapped 100 ways till Sunday, clean up, or leave.

I know nothing about boxing or MMA but even I predicted that wasn't going to happen once I spent 5 minutes reading Wikipedia's entry on Mayweather*. I think only Irish fanboys and closet racists thought Conor had a better than 5% chance of winning.
