Does Bolsonaro translate to “man with big nuts”? I assume you’re talking about Trump

Because the entire country is corrupt as hell and the political system is poorly structured to handle it. You'd need a ruthless but benevolent dictator to do anything significant.

I've strongly suspected for years that in most democracies structured like the USA... the people at the top of the political spectrum (like the President) don't really have as much power as most people like to think they do. Nobody with any real power and control is going to put themselves in a position where that power is effectively silenced after 4-8 years. It's merely a rung in the ladder ... but not the top of it. The real power players are the ones who hold positions without term limits and/or bankroll everyone else behind the scenes so that their face is never target #1. Meanwhile, those that are the face can easily be manipulated or scapegoated by the bankrollers.

I think the Roman Republic showed this situation quite well with its magistrate positions. Being appointed Consul (similar to President) was just a rung in the ladder to more wealth and power ... and not the tippity top itself. The real power usually existed in the people that helped get you to that position for their own personal gain.

I think this is precisely the reason why you'll never seen any real change in Mexico as each president (one 6 year term) blows hot air.

Same principle applies in the USA. IMO... Trump's presidency has validated this quite well. The dude massively upset the status quo and game plan by getting elected. Both sides of the isle want nothing to do with him. Furthermore, you can see the absolute frustration and struggle that he has had since day one trying to overcome the massive corruption. I think the only reason he's made even a small dent is because he's a billionaire which cuts down on a multitude of manipulation angles. Guarantee that he entered office and quickly realized being the President of the USA didn't give him the heavy bat to swing that he expected.

There isnt one Cartel. Theres many of them fighting for territory to run their drug trade. Some Cartels are worst then others but for the most part their all scum. One of the reasons why a lot of people supported El Chapo is because he was fighting Los Zetas which is/was the most vicious Cartel in Mexico. They would go after anyone doesn't matter if your in the Cartel or not. El Chapos cartel was the lesser of two evils. I believe Los Zetas, and Knights Templar Cartel are probably the most vicious cartels currently.

you wanna know the US politicans are in the pockets of the drug cartels? The government is worried about the middle east when we have the biggest threat across the border connected to our land. Sending massive amount of drugs, killing innocent families, etc, etc, etc... yet we don't even bat an eye to our neighbor.

Quite the opposite, the main reason why some Republican lawmakers claim (but not actually) oppose Trump is because he is so blatantly corrupt and incompetent that they fear for their own electoral prospects. Otherwise he's given the Republic establishment most of what it wanted - stacked courts, tax cuts for the wealthy, partisans/billionaires littering Cabinet, direct pro-GOP media line to the White House, hawkish stance on Iran, aggressive stance on illegals, energy industry controlling environmental regulations, etc... he's only truly gone against GOP interests on trade. That's why he's still there. Which indeed, proves you right in that individually, lawmakers don't have much power themselves and are largely going with the flow, even Trump.

I've yet to see any compelling evidence of Trump corruption on any level similar to that of Obama, Clinton, Bush, etc. Also, the establishment hates Trump... that much has been obvious even during his campaign run ... to the point that i thought if they could get away with it they'd of pulled a Bernie Sanders on him. He actually reminds me of Andrew Jackson in a lot of ways. Nobody in power seemed to like him much either (first president to have an assassination attempt)... but the common people sure did.

I've had a theory which I've been dwelling on writing something about for a while now. That theory being that both political parties secretly became one at their core during the early 1900s around the time you saw the black vote switch, Federal Reserve instituted, income tax instituted, American expansionism, etc. I honestly don't think the system intended to let Trump in and they're doing everything possible to make sure it doesn't continue next election. IMO they are down to Hail Mary's with the constant impeachment stuff.

I actually think the only reason Trump hasn't completely imploded at this point is because his self-grandeur and ego is so massive in willpower that it virtually eclipses everything the powers-at-be have thrown at him. And that drives both sides of the power isle crazy.

I mean, it's hard to even begin with the bucket list of corruption:

Spoiler!
-"I will release my tax returns" -> "After the election, of course" -> "Eventually" -> "You didn't need to see it to vote for me" -> *fighting tooth and nail against every bit of tax and financial information from being disclosed* "NOTHING TO HIDE!"
-Oil lobbyist in charge of EPA, pyramid scheme scam CEO in charge of education (also the wife of mother****ing Blackwater's founder btw), Wall Street half-billionaire in charge of finance, oil CEO formerly in charge of foreign affairs, guy who said everywhere he'd cover Trump's ass iin charge of DoJ, etc. Many (most notably DeVos) had contributed generously to GOP lawmakers btw, Barr even shamelessly defended his own donations as just "identifying strongly" with the GOP administration lol, that's how little they care.
-Trump formerly personal friends with Epstein, publicly commented how Epstein loved to **** "very young" women. Former Labor minister has to resign because it turns out, he was instrumental in Epstein having a prior softball sentence. Barr's father hooked up Epstein with a job. Epstein mysteriously dies even though Barr had all the power to make sure he didn't. Hmmmm
-Literally using his POTUS Twitter to promote his own business (did ya grab a 25% off MAGA hat on Memorial Day?)
-Spending exponentially more time golfing than Obama, including in his own properties, despite his very criticism of presidential golfing being a selling point in his campaign
-Having taxpayer-funded events and personnel attending staying in his properties and even billing them. And now, uh, G ****ing 7 at one of his resorts? What in the **** lol
-Insane administration turnover despite largely choosing partisans, friends and MAGA nation to fill positions.
-Still inexplicably defends Saudis over brutal murder of Khasoggi, while ramping up weapons sales
-Qatar gets blockaded two weeks after Kushner fails to secure a half-billion dollar Qatari bailout for his family business; Kushner accompanied by aforementioned Blackwater scum in a Saudi meeting. hmm
-Inexplicable abandonment of Kurds despite their heavy losses in fighting against ISIS, "joked" he had a conflict of interest with Turks due to presence of Trump Towers in the country.

The list is unfortunately staggering and unprecedented to just go by memory and risk some of it being half-truths. I'll just post some links that are about plain statements than anti-Trump takes:https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/t...ion-conflicts/

Like, the corruption isn't surprising. Trump has made a point to not learn and just pretend he's an expert on everything in spite of his lack of worldly knowledge. He primarily cares about furthering his personal business and never admitting to being wrong - see how that's a problem? That's why he tries surrounding himself with partisans and sycophants who won't deny or talk badly about him, meaning competence is sorely lacking across the board - while he sets the example that personal enrichment on the taxpayer's dime is OK. You're only running afoul of Trump when you get in his way, hence his non-stop Twitter tirades against any perceived opponent and cringey flattery of anyone who appears to be doing his bidding. There's no "willpower" to any of this. He simply approaches the presidency like a narcissistic mother-in-law who's victimized by everyone and is righteous in all of her causes, making him "anti-establishment" only to the extent that a politician couldn't be this bad and still get away with it - the "establishment" would sure prefer to hand waive all criticism with minimal intellectual effort and chalk up any instance of corruption or incompetence as "fake news".

Funny thing, my former country's president is almost a carbon copy of Trump. Even though he came into power very popular (thanks to 14 years of failed leftist rule) many of his allies have turned on him within a year due to his sheer incompetence and self-serving. What's different down there is that the president's party is not strong at all and must rely on many other parties to pass legislation, meaning jumping ship is not particularly damaging to a lawmaker; he can easily get re-elected rocking another brand. And the public is a lot more free to criticize bad decisions without looking like they're helping political enemies; there are myriads of political sides. Trump-style politicians are common in 3rd world countries, after all - not like the gameplan is unfamiliar. But in the US only two sides exist, and if you ain't with us...
I mean, it's hard to even begin with the bucket list of corruption:
-"I will release my tax returns" -> "After the election, of course" -> "Eventually" -> "You didn't need to see it to vote for me" -> *fighting tooth and nail against every bit of tax and financial information from being disclosed* "NOTHING TO HIDE!".
Taxes were first on your list of corruption, so I'll assume it's the one you feel most strongly about. Why is not releasing his taxes a corrupt thing to do?
Entire NYPD should go on strike. You'll see then how quickly the mayor changes his tone.
