OP, I don't know much about skin cancer but honestly if he addresses it before it gets to its advanced stage then he should be fine. Cancer in its own form mostly attacks a body that is very acidic meaning all the acidic foods you eat just piles up in the general body temple, so if he's eating constant acidic food of LOW PH and no alkaline balance and he's constantly dehydrated then his situation is going to get worse. Best thing you can honestly do right now is just to make sure he eats properly from here on out (if he hasn't been already).

I'm sure the bloke will be alright though but as Wincel said, it does also depend on the severity of the skin cancer. He's not worried because he doesn't want you to worry and that's understandable, I respect the bloke alot. Just focus on your kids and each other and don't worry about your ex, if he tries to do some shady **** then you guys will get through it because he'd obviously have no grounds to take custody of your children due to the fact that they're not even living in a harmful environment. Your kid will be fine, just focus on your hubby.

the fact that women get into relationships and marriages with men like this is beyond my comprehension. Sorry OP but the dude is obviously way further in years than you if he has a 16 year old PLUS more kids, plus baby mama ex wife drama out the ass it sounds like, plus major health issues he isnt responsible enough to take care of himself, plus he works too much. Like wow, this is the man women see as a winner? I would understand a woman who has 2 kids and is in her mid 30s but a 28 year old health conscious woman marrying into that life of drama and pain?

hes turning 35 this month, he’s not that much older.

And I have pretty gnarly health issues too, immune disorder and symptomatic epilepsy, he’s been through many seizures and hospital trips with me. Also, he is a rock and such an amazing father, he even runs his own nonprofit along with the father’s rights group, we grew up down the street from each other and he’s helped me through some really dark times. I stand behind him 100 percent and am grateful every day I wake up in his arms :]

It's skin cancer and not that serious. I used to go to a Dermatologist for my acne and all I ever saw was a bunch old white men getting their skin checked for recurring melanoma. None of them seemed worried and they all came alone. It was a bit routine rather. Once I Overheard the doc tell one of them, yep it's back let laser it out now.

It's not melanoma, so as long as you follow doctor's instructions there's virtually no chance this is a danger to his life. Mostly a hassle to be honest but definitely not worth losing sleep over.

My father had basal carcinoma on his mid back. They cut that bish out and he's cancer free. It didn't spread beyond the spot.

the chemo isn’t seeming to have hit him to hard yet, he still loves his taco bell and wings and energy level hasn’t much but it wasn’t great before he started

I’m sorry that your family has to go through this. I wish you all the best.

When the chemo does kick in I would have feel better kits stashed all over the house. Wash rags, mouth wash, something to calm his stomach down, etc. I watched my father go through lung & colon cancer. He’s supposedly in remission, some of the side effects from chemo still hits him. So in your pantry/fridge I will always keep something that doesn’t upset his stomach. Maybe look into medical growing.. if you get my drift. Because chemo will cause him to become sick and he won’t want to eat.
There’s so much you have to do when a love one suffers from cancer. Personal id write everything done from doctor, I’ve even started recording my sessions to make sure I can remember everything the specialist say. Due to doctors being so busy that most push the questions on the nurses

wow that sounds rough and that’s a good idea, I always have his fav potato soup which I think would be good, Samitch stuff for they boys is always on sock, and plain rice and pasta, chicken breast and chicken soup. I’ll have to look into wash rags and stuff. Thank you for the support and kind words, and I’ve been trying to track everything but I don’t always get to hear the doctor conversations. Also been bleaching and keeping everything super sanitary and we have dispensaries in my state if it comes down to it.

I am really sorry to hear this news. Hang in there and take care of yourself. Being a caretaker is exhausting, make sure you look after yourself.

Biotene mouth rinse helped me out a lot during those rough days, whether it was mouth sores or trying not to brush my teeth after vomiting. Don't hesitate to PM if you ever need anything, even just to vent.

Surgery today:
It’s almost 4 so we’ve been here since 11, and this is the third extraction. Still waiting to see if any cancer cells are left on his nose on the edges of the removal. Ugh -_- this is nerve racking, I can see the pain is starting to really set in and we have to pick up the kids after. I got to sit in for a bit before he said he’d rather have the surgery alone and have me just sit with him in between the extractions waiting on the lab results. This is worse than the chemo cause I can’t sit with him. Hopefully this is the last one. Praying

Looks like Basal Cell. Basically harmless. I've had 13 (it honestly might be closer to 20)+ removed in the past 2 years (due to some medicine I was on caused a SUPER increased risk of getting skin cancer). I talked to many experts once I got past 2 and they all agreed, its not a big deal, it almost never spreads and people go years without treating it due to being afraid of scars. However, they all did say it increases your chance for melanoma.


I wear so much sun screen these days and use self tanner during the summer so I don't look like casper.


EDIT: Damn I just read it turned out to be melanoma. Good look and a speedy recovery. Don't be afraid to invest in a plastic surgeon after surgery, they can do wonders. A coworker got it on her nose, and you can't even tell there was a scar or removal. Your husband is lucky to have such a supportive figure in his life.

this is his second time with melanoma and thank god for union insurance covering the plastic surgery and surgery for only a 200 dollar copay, he has three other spots which hopefully are only basal and thank you glad you had a good recovery scary shet

Sorry to hear. My dad’s twin brother was
diagnosed with melanoma and passed away 6 weeks later. Looked completely healthy and was at a healthy weight.
