Are you taking any steps to disinfect the food you buy? How often are you going out for groceries? Is there any communication about best practices regarding food supplies/sanitation?

I live in the Veneto region, which is probably the most racist region of the whole country. Racism here is so strong that it goes beyond race/color of your skin, most people here dislike anyone from outside of the region.

Honestly no. They said that food is safe so Im not really doing anything different. I go out for groceries 1/2x week on average

They recommend to always wash you hands, sanitize every surface and try to maintain a distance of about 1m from people. Also handshakes are not recommended

Can confirm, studied in Padova and there were some old people there who disliked me because I wasn't Italian. Even when I explained I didn't speak perfect Italian because I'm not a native speaker but I'm there to learn it, they still didn't understand I wouldn't stay in my own country lol.
"Che cazzo fai qui?" Do you even Erasmus bich?

The younger generation is less racist, or at least in Padova they weren't.

Not sure about that..there was an elder couple from Codogno (where the virus started) that escaped the city like a week ago. Both tested positive. We are talking about a couple of 70+ years old..thats why I said that (on paper) we did the right thing, but since people are stupid and there is not enough control, the virus will continue to spread.

If you do get caught though, you can face up to three months jail time

My dad was suppose to go back to Italy next month to visit his brothers and sisters, but I don't think he's gonna do that lmao.

He's from the dirty south, so it should be fine there, but he's also 72 so it's not worth risking it.

I almost wintered in Sicily this year. My Sicilian acquaintances are on edge and it's a beautiful place full of cool people but not somewhere I'd want to be trapped during a social crisis and epidemic disease outbreak. If I had Sicilian siblings, I'd be tempted to offer them a room to crash in until this shakes out.
Nah, fukk that. I’m not doing that.

Tell me about it. My dads from a sea side town in Calabria, there's literally NOTHING to do there. I can only take 2 weeks until I want to leave. I mean the beaches are awesome and I getting to see all my cousins, aunts and uncles is really nice, oh yea and the food. But after a few weeks you want to get out.

This is a big problem because as most businesses are closed, many people are forced to stay at home. Its not a big deal if its only for a few weeks, but if the virus continue spreading (likely) then I have no idea what will happen. The company I work for allowed me to work from home, so its not an issue in my case

Ive seen only one guy wearing a mask tbh, also repped for mentioning Dybala. What a fukin goal he scored yesterday

What do you consider REAL italian cuisine? What is the staple dish from where you're from?

Something seafood related?
Survival. When the jungle tears itself down and builds itself into something new. Guys like you and me, we end up dead. Doesn’t really mean anything. Or, if we happen to live through it, well that doesn’t mean anything either.

Fuark, this could be the start of a big change in society I think...don't think the current self-entitled population is well equipped to handle this and act for the greater good of society.

Hard times create strong men (1914-1950)

Strong men create good times (1950-1990)

Good times create weak men (1990-2020)

Weak men create hard times (2020- ??)

I am probably being melodramatic because I have been reading my financial twitter and the markets are in meltdown. It is easy to get swept up in the panic lol.

Real italian cuisine to me is the cuisine from the south: so basically pasta (carbonara, amatriciana, gricia, cacio e pepe, aglio e olio etc..) seafood, lots of different kinds of vegetables and well, of course pizza.

Staple dishes where Im from are polenta, risi e bisi (rice with peas hnggg) and of course radicchio, we put it everywhere.

Yeah thats how I see it aswell. Chit is going down

UPDATE: So now that the whole country is quarantined, you are not allowed to leave your house EXCEPT if its for work or health. If they catch you outside for another reason (and there are a lot more cops on the streets, controlling random people), you face jail time.
People are starting to panic and are literally assaulting supermarkets where I live, feels like Im in a movie.
I'm already down 2 lbs and can feel myself shrinking everyday, even though I know you cant lose muscle this fast and its all mental..but it sucks mane. Ill probably load up a back pack and go do some weighted pull-ups, pushups and squats in the park, but if cops catch me tour is over for me. Hold me boyos

Does going to buy food count as health? How is there enough law enforcement to police a lockdown of an entire country? Seems like an impossible task unless you guys have serious police forces. Our local PDs in my area have like 3-4 cops, and they are part-timers.
