Sure, i'm talking about the developed countries in Europe. UK, Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Belgium, France, Finland, Norway, Denmark etc... what's your point? Did i say compared toeverycountry in Europe? Nope. Like i said, you do some things better than us, and we do some things better than you, and infrastructure is a place where the strong European countries excel (especially rich, low population countries like Norway)... it's not a big deal and it's not that deep.

Americans spend so much time talking chit about every other country all the time and nobody bats an eyelid, it's hilarious to see you guys get so triggered over such a minor comment by some chit tier university literally nobody gives a chit about. You guys sure can give it out, but you struggle to take it in any form what-so-ever lmao.

To my fellow Ameribrahs: Why do you always take the B8 in these threads? A mostly homogeneous nation of 5 million people with vast oil reserves is going to have some advantages especially when they benefit from America playing world police and leading healthcare R&D.

Also didn't think I'd see someone un-ironically defending Cuban healthcare today.

Norway is completely different to Sweden... it's easily one of the best countries in the world to live, and it's infrastructure is better than USA's. it's also richer GBP per capita thanks to it's vast oil fund, but it has a very different model to Norway. I'd imagine the average person is far happier in Norway, but the rich are less rich and the poor are less poor. There's a million different reasons you can use, such as population size etc etc, but the fact is the quality of life in Norway, based on most objective factors is superior, regardless of the reasons.

I don't get why American's get so insulted if anyone implies they might not be the best at EVERYTHING.
Norway/Sweden are one in the same on the scale we're talking about. I didn't get insulted at all. I'm just calling a spade a spade but you seem to be the one triggered.

I would easily agree they have a better quality of life in a number of metrics. Especially around education and healthcare but my point was Sweden/Norway are essentially a capital city and then a bunch of fukoff land with nothing but outdoorsy chit to do. We call that Oregon, and Utah here.

I don't give a fuk about the GDP and tax percentages of Estonia vs Latvia, but they're essentially the same country at the scale we're talking about. Just like Norway/Sweden

They are completely different places, and this is why i believe your comparisons are from ignorance. You're making a comparison based on the fact you've visited Sweden... just because they are nearby doesn't mean they're alike. Their infrastructure, economies, population density, and even laws are very different... Norway is a MUCH more wealthy country for a start, so drawing a comparison based on your experience of sweden is really irrelevant to the discussion, because we're not discussing Sweden. Sweden is also a significantly worse place to live than Norway, with a lower quality of life, less wealth, more crime etc. (Still not a bad place to live compared to most countries, but compared to Norway it absolutely is)

Anyway i don't think we're getting anywhere so probably not much value in continuing; i admit you don't sound as rustled as the others. I just don't see why people are getting upset over this.

Should they have said Poland or Albania?
Everyone knows those are countries have chitty health care system etc.
It’s likely because the US is a not-so obvious choice of country & perhaps they have a large amount of students for a semester abroad in the US. Who knows... But a university is definitely not “talking chit” about the US. They are providing a public service message to those for whom it is relevant LMAO.
Talking about “beta” in regards to this is the most ridiculous thing.

This just shows how different some from the US percieves messages compared to how most Scandinavians percieve messages. Never did it cross my mind that someone would think the university was talking chit about the US LMAO.

I disagree. Being nearby definitely means they're alike. Life in Spain, France, Italy for example. Three different languages, 3 different cultures, VERY similar lifestyles though.

Just like Scandinavia has a completely separate way of life.

Even here in the states. There's a reason all the Eastern European people from Serbia, Bosnia, Armenia, Ukraine tend to hang out with each other. That's the high level grouping I'm referring too. Not their friggin taxation, and population density lol.

wait wut
https://norwaytoday.info/news/norway...nfection-rate/

seems not

also, werent we told south korea did an amazing job with their corona virus response? they have the second highest infection rate, right behind socialized medical care Italy. The news wouldnt just lie to us like that would they?

I lived in Norway for a year, and went over the border countless times to Sweden (often for fuel, as well as 5-6 small holidays and visiting gf's family)... they are completely different in so many ways from architecture to culture, i'm not speaking from ignorance, i'm speaking from actually having lived there. Denmark is more similar to Norway than Sweden is, while still being very different. They speak similar languages though.

Finland borders Sweden, you gonna tell me they are alike too (tip, they are completely different culturally, even moreso than norway and sweden).. they aren't even culturally similar like scandi countries

But again, i suppose we'll have to agree to disagree; you visited sweden once so you know better about life in Norway than someone who lived there bro... lmfao!

Considering this post is about infrastructure, i'd say all of the factors mentioned are relevant even though you're dismissing them like they're unimportant.

I lived in Sweden for three months, finland for one and don't have an axe to grind. But you keep on caping for countries that aren't even your own and have nearly zero influence on the world outside of their own borders.

I'm simply making a point relevant to the discussion, whereas you seem to be making irrelevant points/trying to cope (not that it's necessary, USA is the world leaders in a lot of other areas). Like i said, Norway and Swedish lifestyles are very different for 2 countries that are seen as so similar, and if you think they're the same despite never setting foot in Norway... then your argument is from ignorance IMO. I'm talking about the quality of life IN norway, and it's infrastructure compared to the USA - what relevance does it's influence outside it's own borders have? (Even if it was true they had 0 influence outside their own borders)

The fact Norway isn't even my own country is why i'm unbiased.

Also, Oslo =/= Norway. It's one place. Try looking at Bergen, Drammen, Trondheim.. but i'm not sure what you think that picture proves? They don't look that similar and that could be any two cities in Europe, hardly proves they have the same way of life..

I'm struggling with this discussion because i don't actually get what your point is; you seem to be claiming Sweden and Norway are basically the same (hence why you feel you can draw comparisons about Norway from spending time in Sweden?)... this isn't true. Everything else is noise. Like i said, if you want to talk about which countries are similar, Denmark is more similar to Norway than Sweden is.

The fact Sweden is a part of the EU whilst Norway isn't has a LOT of ramifications to everyday life aswell that i can't even begin to touch on in one post.

Life in Norway is different for many reasons though; the approach to immigration is totally different, the work/life balance is very different too... The Swedish are much more motivated whilst Norwegians are much more relaxed and laid back with regards to work, work is a much more important facet of Swedish life. There's a lot less motorways in Norway (there's like 2 motorways in the whole of Norway) which again, changes life drastically. The norwegians are generally much more naive to life around them/outside of Norway than Sweden are and basically live in a little bubble compared to the extreme social conscience in Sweden. The way of life in Norway is generally much slower, and less global in Norway than in Sweden.

Also lol @ you comparing france, spain and italy as VERY similar ways of life. You'd be better comparing like italy to greece... but i do love it when American's try to educate me on how life is in Europe lol...

None of this makes USA any less of a country, so i don't fully understand why the cope in this thread. I am done here though, i don't really see anywhere constructive we're gonna go from here, i guess we're simply not going to agree. I also need to stop writing essays lol
