The authors suggest perhaps immunization strategies that mimic the often impressive protection that early childhood exposure provides could dramatically reduce deaths from seasonal and new flu strains.

Our immune systems build their defenses through exposure. This is how vaccines work. This is why hospitals are asking for people who have overcome the coronavirus to go ahead and help donate plasma.

Staying inside and avoiding any and all germs will cuck your immune system, as well as everyone else's in the long run.

Mass suicides / mass homelessness / mass business closures. Already millions are unemployed right now applying for unemployment, stock market is tanking, FED is lending money like crazy, etc. Not to mention that millions forced to be homeless will absolutely destroy any social distancing guidelines set upon us if they are on the streets and looting.

Dumb ass
Lmao @ 40 million suicides.

You're retarded af cuz. Literally every single day you are proven more wrong.

You want markets to collapse? Wait until bodies pile up faster than holes can be dug. Seriously, stop trying to be "edgy" and outsmart the math.
Calm down bro.
Survival. When the jungle tears itself down and builds itself into something new. Guys like you and me, we end up dead. Doesn’t really mean anything. Or, if we happen to live through it, well that doesn’t mean anything either.

LOL who was reading comprehension? Where did I imply 40 million suicides?

During the Great Depression the suicide rate was 150 per 1 million people. If we experience something similar, you can expect the same.

Check out the number of people who applied for unemployment or are recently unemployed. Not only is this underreported, but this is just the beginning. If this keeps up the market will absolutely collapse and the cure will be even worse than the cause. The Fed can't keep lending 1 Trillion a day to lend to banks, the Govt can't keep spending trillions on stimulus packages, and welfare programs will not be able to support the millions living on unemployment and welfare. Remember that unemployment programs have now been extended to those who are self employed as well.

Dumb ass checker players. Smh.
Based on this virus's statistics, and taking out primarily old and those with weakened immune systems, it will free up tons of resources. Hence why so many people think it was lab created.

He just a negative nancy brah, dude's been posting on the relationship forum for the longest time and misc with redpill and nihilistic views. It's all good and fun though. Can't be misc without differing opinions.

Realistically this virus ain't ****. Trump is however being pressured to lock this **** down for god knows what reason. We'll have to take this one day at a time.

In the meantime people in NY are in don't give a **** mode: they are and will always go out and about. This lockdown really is showing that you can't control nature, and nature wants to go out and experience despite fears of catching any disease.

The problem with overloading the hospitals should've been addressed in the beginning.

Herd immunity is essential with the young crowd.

The most at-risk population (elderly, immunodeficient, preexisting conditions or those in fear of the virus from hypochondria) should isolate. The rest of us should work and keep the oil in the machine lubricated.

Wasn't the shutdown initially planned to be in effect until end of April? Not sure what exactly changed.

I'm just hoping the hospitals can keep up. If they hold up, the death rate will stay low. If they can't, it'll skyrocket. (Layman prediction)

Deaths 2458 / Recovered 4435 = 55% death rate

In the next two weeks we'll see where those remaining 141k people go. Hopefully the majority in the recovered bucket.
So what you are saying is 55% of the recovered are dead??

so i watched the press meeting tonight, and I'm aware of this extension, but my concern is does this apply to all business that are currently told to close? I was "furloughed" on Friday with an expected return on the 13th. I'm really hoping these are 2 separate acts.

Yes, exactly. The point is to slow it down and not wipe out a bunch of health care workers, people with the virus that could survive IF they could get medical support, and people that don't even have Corona and die of something unrelated because their hospital is swamped.

US numbers here?

This virus is bad, but a 55% death rate is overstated IMO. In the US (most areas) only the very sick/hospital admits are getting tested. So the number of cases is highly related to the number of fatalities.

Pattern was noticed on another forum that case number and death number 15 days later are tracking closely.

That was dumb the way I explained that.

The point I was trying to make was.

Of all the completed cases 6893
4435 recovered
2458 died

35% of completed cases resulted in death.

Those are u.s. numbers from Wikipedia.

I corrected the number but that's current as of today.
