Im a PA and ive done telemedicine with about a dozen of them. Ive had to send 2 to the ER I think. None of them were really healthy.

It actually infuriates me to see people on the governments side - as if more lock-downs are a positive thing. Let people make their own choices. If you want to stay inside, go ahead. But if a bar or a beach wants to open up and people want to go to it, the government has no right to stop them.

Imagine if the government says: 40k people die from car accidents every year and we've determined it's too much of a health risk to drive in adverse conditions so we're making it illegal to drive cars in the rain and snow. How is this any different?

We were originally told that the lock downs were to flatten the curve in order to buy time for the healthcare system to prepare proper ICU bed space, medical equipment like ventilators, and PPE equipment to meet the demand for a COVID-19 surge. It's been 1.5 months now, and nurses/medical staff across the country are starting to get reduced hours, reduced pay, and laid off because hospitals don't have enough work for them anymore.

Clearly, that should indicate that we're at a point where it's time to start getting back to life as normal. Obviously we should still be more careful with hygiene and protecting the vulnerable, but keeping the economy shut down for even a few more months isn't an realsitic option. What good is slowing down the spread a little longer going to do if the economy tanks beyond reasonable repair and we've got 30-40%+ of people relying strictly on government benefits just to exist? It has been proven time and time again that governments can't sustsain that many people to that extent. They are already struggling to do it even though it has only been a couple months since this chit got started.

Also, does anyone really still believe that COVID-19 only made it to the U.S. by March of 2020? This chit started in China back in November 2019, and travel with Wuhan was still open until like late January if I'm not mistaken. So how can any logical person actually believe this started in March? The virus almost certainly made it to the U.S. by January at the latest, if not December of 2019. Yet the freakout and shut downs were delayed until March. Give me a break.

I am high risk...mostly staying inside but I still take walks and will go to the store here and there. I don't think it makes sense for younger, healthy people to stay inside at this point, though. The virus doesn't just magically go away because you hide in your closet. I can work from home for a long time if I want...that's called a privilege. A lot of people don't have that ability, or even have a job right now. The needs of many should always outweigh the needs of the few. We can't keep doing this until there is a vaccine -- that's probably at the very least not until January, most likely mid 2021. Nobody is going to obey these orders much longer anyway, outside of those who are high risk, of which many will say fuk it anyway.

- the US has more hospital beds than needed
- medical staff are having their hours reduced
- the death rate is much lower than initially thought,

Same. I work in downtown manhattan. I’ve never been around more sick people in my life than in November/December. People coming in coughing like wtf, stay your ass home. The guy who sits directly next to me was out 5 business days with a respiratory infection in December. Somehow I was only out sick 1 day the entire winter.
