People with autoimmune conditions have never had the world stop for them before- why are we expecting it now?

The point is, I would have changed fields completely if that was the only option, instead of sitting on my ass doing nothin, praying that I will magically have a job before my money ran out. If your son as has auto immune disease are they not at increased mortality risk already as in before covid. Pathogens being passed from human to human isn’t something which has only just started happening now, surely you would be taking some precautions all the time

Yeah, but the flu or cold are not going to kill him. He's always sick, or was until the schools closed. This is actually the healthiest he's been since he was born. Covid triggers a much stronger autoimmune response. People with covid-19 are going into organ failure because it's causing the body to attack itself.

Kind of sick of people still saying it's just the flu. It's been proven it's much more invasive than the flu and way more contagious.

See this i dont understand. How has the amount of food consumed changed? people arent eating less are they? Wouldnt you think the volume of food in the supply chain would just shift from restaurants to grocery stores?

Yeah, this situation confusing as feck. Farmers dumping milk cos restaurants not buying. Groceries limiting to 1-2 gallons a trip. Farmers begging grocers to lift the limits. I think it's a delay in shifting supply lines from one area (restaurants/schools) to groceries, but it's happening in tons of chit right now. My grocery is out of TP almost every time I go. People chitting more often all at once now or what??? Cleaning products, flour, certain canned goods, even certain produce right now. Chit should be normal by now but it's fukkin bananas right now.

Mind = blown someone in IT can't WFH. If I can do it in insurance and I know lawyers actually litigating from home, I can't figure how anyone working with VMWare IT projects can't work from home.

I didn't say it wasn't worse... but it also might not be. The antibody sturdy they did in the Bay Area showed close to 20% of people and it already and MANY swear they had no symptoms where they could even guess when they were exposed. There was a pork processing plant with 347 positive tests for active infection andall 347 positive individuals were asymptotic We know very little about this illness but it looks like it's got a very, very wide range of severities- and that a huge percentage of people may have no symptoms at all, ever.

We've got to start adjusting to handle this based on risk level for the individual. Over 65, diabetic, heart issues, immunocompromised? You get to work/school from home for the rest of 2020. Immediate family member work the same issue? Same deal.

Open up the fukking country and use the tax revenue you're suddenly generating again to fund programs to help keep those people from having to leave their home, but make participation voluntary. Let the rest of us make an income to help pay taxes and take care of those who actually need it.

Had to refinance my house. $80k gone, just like that + an extra $100k I then had to pay in loan interest by starting over.

You're normally a quality poster but you're projecting A LOT here. You're aware there are actual experts, doctors, etc. that think things should be lifted? And there's evidence that this whole virus went through California in Dec/Jan, and no one even really noticed, but months later it's the end of the world and a lockdown is a necessity or millions will die? It's not. This whole thing is an obvious power grab.
